Alright classy was the wrong word... the right word is nice. He is generally regarded by writers, teammate, and opponents as one of the nicest guys in baseball along with others such as Mike Sweeney.

If he wasn't a good guy, don't you think the media would be as hard on him as they are on Barry?

I think if you ask Oakland A's fans about him, the way he left Oakland kind of left a sour taste in their mouths.

I'll let the A's fans have their say about him as it relates to him leaving after the 2001 season

This was from the Yankees team thread dated to 6/16.... page 42 to be exact, and there are a number of humorous things said about Giambi throughout the time period. I was curious to see how quickly a few bombs could chase away the integrity in some folks.

But what I want to know is how you can justify Giambi's use of sterouds since, well, he's hitting pretty damn well at this point.

And a shout-out to Jets for always giving yankee fans a good name and not flipping like a flouder caught off the line.

They should start walking him every time up.

I'm really hoping he gets tested soon. He's not going to cool down.

Good find... good find. But people... including myself... get irrational and crazy when there teams are stuggling just as the Yankees were back on that day. There a different team now and yes... I have changed my mind on Giambi as he has proved me along woth most wrong.

I never said that I disliked him at the time... because I never have. But after last year, I dont think anyone came into the year expecting him to turn things arounf and look what happened...a very pleasant surprise. I'm not going to lie and make myself out to look like a genious by saying I knew all along he'd come around... because honestly I never thought he would... but now that he has... I'm very pleased. All fans are going to get on guys when they are underperforming... especially a guy getting 13 mil a year... and thats exactly what I did... but I never disliked him personally because he never gave me a reason to.

And no... I am 100% certain he is not on steroids right now. I don't think any human being, including Giambi, would be stupid enough to go back on steroids after being involved in one of the biggest scandals in sports history. I credit it to hard work by him with Don Mattingly.

Like I said, I doubt he cools down. He is going to put up insane numbers for the rest of the way.

Walk him. Find a place to put him even if the bases are loaded. His OBP might rise, yea, but it's better than giving up an almost gauranteed home run at this point.
