But he's right. If you have 2 runners on base, what's the one thing that will guarantee you will score them. You can't catch the ball or throw a runner out if the ball is in the left field seats.Comment

Weird
Every year in spring training all we hear about is players talking about how they hit the gym, had their own training regimen made for them by a professional trainer... They must be going rogue with this decision every off-season while the coaches of the teams they play for skewer because of their stupidity.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. We’re talking about on the biggest stage, in New York, playing out of position and asked to hit fourth for the New York Yankees. I mean, that’s never been done.” - Sheffield on SheffieldComment

You've gone from being good for a couple chuckles here and there with your wacky theories and ideaology in this thread to just flat-out stubborn in a very short timespan.Comment

That's not my point. If doing it was going to hurt these players, I'm sure the coaches/personal trainers would steer them clear of doing something that'll hurt their career.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. I can same the same about you guys. To say all I just disagree. The point is we all believe what we believe from experiences. I am not going to agree with you guys and you are not going to agree with me. And that is cool, I am sorry for anything I have said! Even though I have been very respect to all you guys, that is more than I can say for you guys though, but it is cool.Comment

Originally posted by ScottdWhat ever, if you think getting bigger is going to help everybody then go for it. All the coaches I know and played for would disagree, but that means nothing. I am just saying it is a gamble. If that was the case then more college player and high school players would be taking them. But I am all old school, so I could be wrong, and it has been a while since I have played or talk to coaches, so maybe I am out of the loop. Back then they encourage us no to.
However, as I said with the way sports specific workouts have advanced, not to mention major advances in physiology, nutritional science, and chemistry those days are long gone.Comment

Re: Official Barry Bonds Thread
Originally posted by ScottdI am saying in general, but we had one on the Giants, Bobby E. He was hugh and strong and that didn't help his game. What I am saying is player that get to big lose their swing, but that is all I have ever been taught, so it could be wrong today. When I say 50/50 I am saying it is a gamble, some might get better and some might not. I know if we look at all the player that did take them, they got good, but they were already good, so I can see you point. I just have been taught that, so that is why I believe what I believe!Comment
