For that matter why not get rid of everyone that gets caught using steroids or any banned substance.
You want to clean up baseball, start kicking players out of the league for using a banned substance. I don't care if its Bonds, Pujols, A-Rod, Clemens, a minor leaguer, a bench warmer, a mascot, a hot dog vendor, who ever it is.
They cheat, kick them out. That is how you clean up baseball.Comment

I thought the idea was to clean up baseball so that kids would get the idea and not use steroids.
I don't care if it means that every single major league ball player is kicked out. You cheat, your out. Its a simple as that.
You can't clean up baseball, by saying oh, he took steroids, he is gone for 3 months and then he'll be back. You clean it up by saying well, you cheated, you are gone for at least a few years, you randomly drug test you using blood and hair samples and if you stay clean, you can comeback. If not, don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Originally posted by RahKhemYou make it seem like its that easy, and don't forget about the players union. Besides remember, it is very hard to kick players out for past usage. Could you imagine getting kicked for taking something that wasn't against the rules at the time? That would be a horrible can of worms to open, and the players union wouldn't allow it. What you need to do is make sure that these types of things don't happen again. You spend time trying to revise the past, you are missing the point entirely.
I am not saying kick guys out for the past. What I am saying is lets start using blood tests, urine tests, and taking hair samples. Anyone who fails these tests are out for at least a few years. I am all for giving someone a second chance, but not a third and not after a slap on the wrist for ruining the integrity of America's past-time.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I also believe that this witch hunt directed towards Bonds is completely ridiculous. Grimsley's affidavit confirms what most people already suspected... that illicit drug use is RAMPANT in baseball and not limited to Bonds. But that does NOT mean that we, as fans/consumers/people that seek entertainment, should sit here and accept a tainted product out on the field.Comment

But to sit there and accept the CHEATING, and I quote "So if Albert is guilty I still don't care, because that is the just the life of the sports world!" just shows me that you don't care about any integrity.

Re: D-Backs Grimsley implicated in steroids probe
Originally posted by countryboyFirst of all, I am going to give Grimsley a pat on the back for at least being man enough, and mature enough, to ask the D'Backs to release him so that they aren't drug into this mess.
And, it didn't take long for someone to bring in Bonds and how wronged he is and to also bring Clemens and Pujols into the mix.
Why does this keep happening? Find some evidence that Pujols and Clemens took something, anything and we'll talk.
For the last time, Bonds admits that he took steroids but claims that he didn't know what they were at the time of injection or what not.Comment

Originally posted by rubisco43Yeah, it takes a REAL man to take all 900k of his salary. Regardless whether or not he asked for his resignation to sway the media attention away from the DBacks, his association with them and EVERY other team that he's played for paints a huge target for ALL media to start asking questions about "what name is blacked out". None of his former teams will be immune to it.
It happened with Palmerio, it'll happen with the next guy to get caught.
Completely agree.
This is something that I never understood about Bonds' apoplogists. HE TOOK STEROIDS. The question is whether or not he KNOWINGLY took them.Comment
