Bud Selig: "Roberto Clemente...legend not only in Pittsburgh, latin community, but in America and around the world....12 consecutive gold gloves....World Series MVP....more importanly he was a humanitarian....he was a hero in every sense of the term...he was idolized by fans here in Pittsburgh, he will be remember for as long as baseball is played....I want to thank the Clemente family, and present you with this award......
