Originally posted by shugknightWhat I don't understand is, why the White Sox have not been in any discussions. Yes, I know that KW said there would be no more deals, but if the Yankees could give up lint from Georgies pockets to get Abreu, why could we not have tried to get him? I would have easily given up Vasquez, Fields, Haeger, Tracey, Anderson, Gload, or any of our other prospects.
Abreu is still a great defender (possibly better than Anderson), and his on-base percentage only makes us a better team.
Yet nothing.. We are going through the biggest slump of the decade and we decide to sit put. I'm not liking this at all
Thats the first time I've ever heard that. Just watching him play, I have no idea how he won a gold glove last year.
The White Sox didn't get Abreu because they didn't have the money. Abreu is going to cost the Yankees (between this year and next) around 20 million dollars. Only the Yankees can absorb a contract like that.Comment

Some minor leaguer.
Kip Wells had a blood clot in his pitching arm. Since it cleared up, 19.2IP 4ER, hitting 93 with his FB and a good curve.Comment
