Why dont you ask them...or you can just assume.

You think there are tons of major leaguers who despise Jeter and think he's classless, but every time they talk about him they have nothing but the best to say?
Again, you make an assumption. At no point did I say this. You are putting words in my mouth. I said nothing close to this nor was it my intention.

His collegues/opponents are the people who know him best, see him behind the scenes and know what he's like. If he wasn't a classy, respectful guy then would all his opponents have great things to say about him?
Do all his opponents have great things to say about him? Do you know this to be true?

In the professional sports world where yourunder an intense microscope (and in NY no less), where the smallest TO comment, the smallest Frank Thomas chirp, where Chad Johnson's trash talking, etc gets blown way out of proportion, why has not a single negative thing made headlines about Jeter in 12 years?
    Perhaps its because he's careful?

It must be because he secretly is a jerk and classless guy.
Again, I never said he was classy or classless and Im not about to base it on the impressions of other people I dont know equally well.

LOL, he said you sound like one, not you are one. Do you understand the meaning of assumption?
Yeah, Im pretty comfortable with the meaning of the word and dont mind helping others.

You didn't say he was classless, but you said there is no proof that he is classy. 12 years of the utmost respect from his peers means you're classy. Unless of course there's a Derek Jeter Lovefest consipracy theory.

You don't hear the same sort of comments from A-Rod's peers, especially after his bitch-slapping incident w. Bronson Arroyo. Coincidence? Nah.

Yes, I've been a diehard Yankee fan since the 80's and follow them very closely. If a player ever publicly said something negative about Jeter I would have known. If they said it under their breath or behind his back, I go back to my point about every little thing being blown up in the pro sports world. Somehow, someway, we would have heard about it.

Part of being classy is being careful. Careful of your actions, what you say and what you do. How many times do athletes apologize for saying something stupid or opening their mouth w.o thinking?

Jeter thinks before he opens his pie-hole or before he contemplates doing something that might hurt his image. He's being careful and classy.

Again, name a neutral ground? Name someone who is "kinda classy". You either are or you aren't.

This argument is dumb. What does him being "classy" have to do with anything? We're talking about baseball not a popularity contest.

            Okay

Yeah, just like everyone knew about OJ and that he had attacked his wife well before she was killed.

            No, he's being intentionally bland.

If youre referring to that Seinfeld episode, I think it was 'grace' they were discussing...that either Elaine had or didnt. Its the one where she got a job buying socks on the weekend.

You guys are nuts. The article was complete satire, and anyone who thinkis Jeter would ever be traded is crazy. I dont care if he hits .225 four the next 4 years, he'd still be loved. The booing during his 0-32 streak last year was to get him going, but everyone still loved him.

Every guy in NYC has a man crush on him.

Again, you make an assumption. At no point did I say this. You are putting words in my mouth. I said nothing close to this nor was it my intention.

Do all his opponents have great things to say about him? Do you know this to be true?

                  Perhaps its because he's careful?

Again, I never said he was classy or classless and Im not about to base it on the impressions of other people I dont know equally well.

Yeah, Im pretty comfortable with the meaning of the word and dont mind helping others.

There is an old saying, before one seeks to help others he should first help himself. I first helped myself by defining the word observation now I will attempt to help you.

Hint: define the word context first, it would be helpful. You know the definition of the word assumption but misapplied it, used it out of context. Ehh tried to clear that up for you but I guess you didn't get it.

I don't have a concrete opinion on what the Yankees should do.

However, I did notice something in the elimination game while the Yankees were getting dominated by the Tigers.

Player A was cutting up and smiling during the beatdown and was actually looking happy and like he didn't care.

Player B was at the wall of the dugout cheering each pitch and showing emotion after each positive and negative.

Can you guess what players they are?

Captain Derek Jeter was Player A and the evil Alex Rodriguez was Player B.

                    Any thoughts about that?

Nope. If there is anyway to watch the replay of the elimination game online, you should certainly watch it once again. You will see what I"m talking about.

What are you talking about? I saw Damon laughing in the 8th when he was in the dugout? Do I think he didn't care? Of course not. I hope they all care just the same, unfortunately that's probably not true.

I"m just pointing out how everyone thinks Jeter is the true leader of the Yankees. Sorry guys, I don't want my leader cutting up in the dugout as we are getting eliminated from the post-season. You can say I'm making this up for some strange reason... but watch the game again. You will see it.

A-Rod should be traded. This is almost like the Todd Bertuzzi situation in Vancouver, except there isn't one event that drastically and completely changed the way of how A-Rod feels about playing as a Yankee.

A-Rod will never thrive as a Yankee, A-Rod will thrive as a Tiger, Met, or any other team that's not named Yankee.

To be fair, many of the Yankee players were laid back during Game 4. I took it as if they accepted that the Tigers were the better team. I'm not condoning that, but it's how I saw it.

But, that's part of the reason why Steinbrenner wanted Torre out. Torre showed no emotion during the loss. He showed emotion after the game, but by then it's too late.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer
