Not to be a dick, but ARod is pretty PR savy to some degree.

I wouldn't think it's too far out there to think he was considering his actions and what would look best for him while he was in the dugout etc.

But you know what the media would say to that?

They'd say he was faking it.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

Hint: define the word context first, it would be helpful. You know the definition of the word assumption but misapplied it, used it out of context. Ehh tried to clear that up for you but I guess you didn't get it.
Uh, no. Nice try though, wise one.

            You should consider the alternative.

Where did I say that? I said I saw Damon laughing in the dugout during the 8th inning. I said I'm sure he still cares, and I hope they all care just the same. Unfortunately they probably all don't. Nowhere did I mention Arod in my post.

And you should consider two things: 1) Paying attention in class and 2) becoming a Yankee fan, it would improve your disposition immensly. Hating causes stress.

Might as well jump on the bandwagon, a good % of your fans have!

Yeah, because Yankee fans are known for having a pleasant disposition and avoiding stress. Again, nice try. Next time try saying something that actually makes sense.

Well, being a Yankee fan I can say I am relatively stress free concerning all baseball matters. Heh, we have 26 titles and counting, exactly how many does your team have? Could it be said that most of us Yankee fans are impatient? Of course, that is because we are used to our team winning. Supporting losers causes stress (I know I did a report on it), it also causes irrational thought, I hear it even makes you define words incorrectly and use them inappopriately and out of context, but that would be an assumption...or is that an observation? At any rate, my main point in this is to tell you to support the NY Yankees, doing so is good for your health. I hope that made sense.

Wouldnt supporting a team less successful than the Yankees imply not worrying about winning but also, and perhaps more importantly, not worried about losing? Doesnt worrying about winning lead to bandwagon jumping? I dont think the team I support is what Im about, and Im not worried about people who do. They are the ones who pound their chests about how many championships their team has won. Obviously Im not worried about it because its stupid.

That is one way of looking at it. It is kind of like a player that plays the game for the love of the game as opposed to the player that plays the game to win. A-Rod plays the game because he loves it and doesn't understand what it means to have a passion for winning, therefore raising his level a notch is somewhat difficult for him (I base this on the many statements he has said sense being a Yankee). Jeter, has a passion for winning he plays the game to win, loving the game is somewhat like breathing it is something that goes on while he is trying to win.

Being a fan is pretty much the same thing, some people root for teams because it is their home town team or because they like the colors of the team, or they may like a star player on the team etc. It doesn't matter if the team wins or not. I am a Yankee fan because I was born and raised in NY, I live 20 minutes from the stadium, I worked for the Yankees, and Jeter is the freaking man. I also appreciate the passion and drive the Big Boss has for winning. Like Herman Edwards said "you play the game to win the game...hello!". Reasonable minds may differ, neither is right nor wrong, but at the end of he day I want the ring.

Arod has yet to internalize this into his competitve psyche, Jeter is winning personified, that is why he is the man and should never be traded. He should, and will, retire a Yankee...a winner.

Your analogies are feeble except that both Yankee fans and Jeter rely on others to come through and then gladly accept the credit...except Jeter actually contributes something at least, unlike Yankee fans.

What does Jeter being the man have to do with your history of being a Yankee fan. This is unrelated to everything else in the sentence. Its awkward.

                              Not this year.

You dont think there is a massive difference between playing and watching?
