Trust me I know. I was just trying to make a point that i'd take Smoltz/Hudson, and the only knock I can come up with is that Dice-K isn't proven. He has been great. Your team is one hell of a team, they may not win it all, but they will be tough to beat.

This would make for a fun WS, but it's all on paper for now, hopefully the Braves come together and play to their potential, make the playoffs and not choke.
If Andruw starts playing like Andruw, just imagine what kind of run producing lineup the Braves will have with Chipper, Texeira, Andruw, Francouer, Renteria, and McCann.

There's usually a few deals that come trickling in an hour or two after the deadline. I'm kind of curious to see if anything comes across that we haven't even heard of yet.

Agreed. I know stuff dried up pretty quick but something like Andrew Miller (I know he's supposed to be untouchable) and Craig Monroe to the Rays for Reyes, Wheeler and Gomes would have helped stabalize their bullpen I think. Not sure how long their window of oppertunity will be there, but that would have been a megadeal that could have helped them keep pace with the Sox, though I think the Tigers are still the team to beat in the AL.

Well in the last month, he has. He is a career .260 hitter, and he has been hitting .267 the past month.

If Gagne could get anywhere close to what he once once then the Sox can really shorten games to 6 innings theoretically. They're now the team to beat in the AL IMO.

Atlanta still has questions with the back end of the rotation but the back end of the pen is solid as any other team in baseball. It's a shame the Brewers didn't really get too much done as I think they could've used a veteran to steady a young team that is now feeling the jitters and realizing what they're accomplishing this year.

Needless to say I think the NL is going to be very exciting to watch down the stretch.

Isn't Andruw going to be a Free Agent at the end of this season? Why isn't he playing like it's a contract year?

That's true. I think his average has climbed from about .197 to .215 over the past month. I think that his pending move from Atlanta is affecting him a little bit. He pretty much knows he'll be playing elsewhere next year and he wants to stay in Atlanta.

I've must of been sleeping, I thought we got 4 players for Tex instead of 5. Add on top of that the Gagne deal and I'm feeling better about the Johnny boy and his deals now.

Well, he has direct control. If he wants to stay in Atlanta, then let him take 6 million a year. If not, let his fat *** walk.

I love Andruw, but this production (or lack thereof) coupled with his inability to hustle down the line really pisses me off.

6 million?? haha, I promise you the Braves will prob offer him 12 million or a little more a year even with the year he is having.

tho I agree with everything your sayin , I'm getting burnt out on him.

and please keep it down to the guy trying to compare the Braves to the Red Sox..We are 3rd in our Division and No where close to the Red Sox in much of anything..I'd rather have there bullpen, There Rotation and hell I'd rather have there lineup anyday of the week.

Tho I hope I change my mind with Tex and maybe Andruw starts hitting.

In a deal that makes no sense it is reported that the Giants have traded Matt Morris to the Pirates for Raja Davis.

YES!! The Pirates are World Series bound!!

The Pirates traded Rajai Davis and a PTBNL to SF for Matt Morris. Good to see Littlefield improve the 2nd to worst offense in the league.
