I would too, but as a Braves fan I'm still pretty excited over the Dotel deal as long as he stays healthy.

I wouldn't pencil Beltre into a starting OF spot for the future just yet. He's only 17, he's very very raw and the highest level he's ever played at is the Gulf Coast League and he's hitting .215, .315 OBP, .413 SLG, with 5 homers and a 4/1 K/BB.

Still, the call-ups the Yankees have coming are great additions to their pen.

Yeah, you should be. Dotel is a very good addition. Shame you didn't get a good pitcher for that rotation, though.

I'll take the Braves line-up over the Sox line-up. That's right, I said it.

If they can handle the show. The good thing is that Joba can't be worse than Proctor or Farnsworth.

Joba struck out the side in AAA in his first appearance outta the pen, with his fastball reaching 99. AAA is one thing, we'll see how he fairs, plus Hughes will be back next week.

It's a shame Manny isn't hitting like Manny and Ortiz is hurting or I'd have an argument...but at the moment, I don.t

At least our rotation blows yours away.

No kidding. I'm fine with Smoltz, Hudson, and even James.......but after that it gets a little scary. Carlyle has pitched decent but it would have been nice to land a quality veteran starter from somewhere.

Hardly in the same league, even with Gonzalez. That's just a good/solid bullpen. The Red Sox on the other hand have an absolutely lights out bullpen. Just the setup/closer ranks up there with the best of the last 10 years. K-Rod/Percival. Rivera/Wetteland. Really really good stuff right there. Gagne's health will be huge though since they weren't able to lock down Dye for their outfield. I think the Tigers are still the team to beat in the AL myself. I'm somewhat surprised the Tigers haven't gotten any bullpen help.

Not at the top of it. Our guys are proven, Dice-K isn't.

This would make for a fun WS, but it's all on paper for now, hopefully the Braves come together and play to their potential, make the playoffs and not choke.

If anyone needed some bullpen help it's definitely Detroit. I thought for sure they would get somebody.

Have you seen Dice-K pitch this year? He's proven he's been worth it. Could be a 15 game winner right now if his run support didn't suck early in the season and in his last few starts.

Who, Edwar Ramirez? He's terrible, he struck out the side in his debut then got shelled after that, he was sent down last week. Plus he's not that young, I think he's 26 or 27.

well... the deadline went... so far, it was the Braves & Sox, & then the Padres just collecting some bench players (Rob Makoviack & Morgan Ensburg)..
