Skip Schumaker?) prospects to land Benoit.

Anyways, take that for what it's worth.
I highly doubt Rasmus or Anderson are going anywhere. Both played in the Future's Game, and I would be shocked if they traded either for a pitcher like Benoit.

I doubt Rasmus would leave but Anderson might, seeing as how he'd be stuck behind Yadier the rest of his career. I hope not for a guy like Benoit, but I guess we'll see.

Reportedly the Twins are among 3 or 4 teams interested in Shea Hillenbrand. Hillenbrand hated being a DH and backup player in Anaheim and that is basically what he would be in Minnesota. Also, i don't get this because they already have Jeff Cirillo who plays 1B/3B/DH and can fill in at 2B and basically can give them the same lack of production that Hillenbrand could.
Terry Ryan has said on the radio twice that he has no interest in Shea Hillenbrand. He basically said that Hillenbrand would be no different than what we already have.

Thats exactly why i couldn't understand when i read that the Twins were interested in Hillenbrand, because he is no better than what they already have.

I don't know why but if i were the Twins i would take a chance on Julio Franco. I think if he went somewhere where he could get regular AB's he might show he has a little left in the tank.

The Phillies are interested in Blue Jays SP Josh Towers. If this were a couple years ago i'd be hesitant to trade Towers but the guy is such a maddening pitcher that now is time to strike from the Jays' perspective. Don't get me wrong, Towers is a great guy off the field but when it comes to pitching he'll be amazing for some stretches then one mistake or big inning can cause him to struggle for 3-4 more starts afterwards.

I'd rather try and get a middle infield prospect or a young arm then keep Towers around for the money that he makes.

Here's to hoping the Giants get rid of Feliz for somebody... maybe Durham and Winn (or Roberts), for more value.

Thankfully, Feliz has been hot lately, so perhaps he will be worth a little more to a team when it comes to looking.

The Twins activated their savior, RonDL, from the DL. According to Terry Ryan, "It's like making a trade."

Sure thing Terry, whatever you say. Page me when you've found a way to replace the 2nd worst hitting regular in the majors.

The Tigers are still interested in getting another arm for the bullpen...I'm hearing Chad Cordero's name being tossed around now.

I guess it's a pipe dream to hope that some sucker...er...GM will take Richie Sexson and his fat contract in a trade. It's almost August now and there's still no sign of one of his famous second half hitting surges kicking in.

                      Re: Official Trade Deadline Thread

With Seattle very much in the AL West race i doubt the Mariners will even try to trade Sexson during the season.

The Minnesota Twins reportedly have interest in Tampa's Ty Wigginton to replace Nick Punto at 3B, the Yankees are also interested.

The Red Sox have been scouting Mark Teixeira recently. Even though it is said that the Sox are a long shot for Teixeira with Youkilis in a slump and Ortiz playing hurt you have to wonder if they are serious about trading for him.

                        You can take Kyle Farnsworth.

I didn't hear him say that LOL. I thought he was going to have a decent season this year. I was slightly off in that prediction!

I would like Ty Wiggington. He can play all of the infield positions but SS so he would provide cheap depth and some pop. I am guessing he would also signal the end of Luis Castillo's tenure as a Minnesota Twin.

Yeah, Terry pulled that line out in an interview the other day.

As for RonDL, he probably would have had a decent season if he could have stayed healthy.
