This is my problem. If they let Clemens and Bonds in, then don't they have to let the others guys in too? Yes Bonds and Clemens were hall of fame bound before the roids, but still I just can't figure this out. Yes they cheated and they shouldn't be in the hall if you ask me, but what about other players that cheated too and didn't get caught. What if they make it in some day. I will say one thing I would not be shock about any player taking something.

I know it;s wrong and he was wrong, but I have a lot of respect for Pettitte, he stood up like a MAN and said he wromg doing...I just say I have respect and thats a lot coming from a Mets guys and a person who hate players who are on steriods.

Would have been nice if he did it BEFORE he got caught, but I understand where you're comin' from.

I still want Clemens to step up, tell America again "I've been tarnished for life, I'm an innocent man", take a lie detector test, and blow Mitchell's report out of the water............................................. .......still waiting. That would effectively end this right there. It would destroy Mitchell's entire report.

Personally, I wonder if "I was using it to recover from surgery" will become the new "I didn't inhale" or "our interpretation of our videotaping procedure".

Alot of people forget the Grimsley thing when Clemens & Petitte's names came up.

Well just like the other person said...he came out and said it after he got caught. But on the other hand, I guess that's still cool because I couldn't see him coming out calling a press conference just to inform everyone that he used HGH without anyone asking questions. So after thinking about that, I guess I have respect for him too. If Barry actually did take the roids and HGH, this is the route that he should have taken and everything would have blown over by now. Sure he would have been lashed at first but it would have been nothing to talk about at this point.

The blame is MONEY. MONEY. MONEY.

If sports had never allowed for bloated contracts for humans that don't even NEED or REQUIRE this kind of money and just kept it a "game" that paid decently (100k-200k) we'd not be having this giant issue of steroids.

A lot of these guys took these drugs before they became banned. How's it cheating when you're taking a substance that's allowed for X amount of years, but not allowed afterwards?

There's really no one that was taking anything after 2005 which is when all of this stuff became banned.

They (being sports writers and analysts) want to vilify this Era to try and make the "golden" era look better. They had issues in that era too... throwing games, gambling, street drug use, etc... more so than our current crop of MLB players.

Good move by Andy to admit it. This puts a ton of pressure on Clemens now as they both use the same trainer, so I'm not sure how much longer he can deny his use.

I didn't think of that. Yeah that puts Roger in a pretty awkward situation and makes Andy look like more of a standup guy. IMO.

Exactly, this pretty much proves Roger did it. Why would the trainer make up Roger if he was telling the truth about Andy.

Just come clean Rocket, you can't hide forever.

I have a feeling Clemens is going to keep denying him. I don't think anybody in their right mind will believe him. Getting caught in the steroid ring couldn't have happened to a better person. The man of the best fitness regime ever, hah
