    Heelfan71:

Im not going to go through and list topics that I felt should not have been locked. However I have seen topics get locked for a lot less...

However I think our mystery guest is either:
    1. A Hoax
    2. Bill Abner

I can almost tell it's Bill because 99% of posters would have challenged me back and gotten upset. He is a cool character so this could be him.

If it is then I am soryy because I have always respected his opinions..

"I write for a variety of outlets, and it'd do no good to use my real name or cite which ones...been there, done that, and it's not beneficial to me or the people I work with."

That needs no explanation, its just funny. Oh and what outlets are these? Oh, you cant list them, not because it isnt beneficial, its because YOU HAVENT PLAYED THE GAMES (other than high heat possibly). Unless you like, work for Gamespot or IGN or something, then there is probably no way you could of played all of them.

          Re: Comprehensive Baseball Reviews

I actually believe this guy so I'm going to fire a few questions at him.

          1. Did you play MLB 2004 for the PS2 as well? If so how is that game. The reason I ask is because it looks like the "underdog" game this year.

          2. How easy is it to make contact when you are batting in MVP? You mentioned that it's tough to strikeout the computer and it's tough to strikeout when batting. That would lead me to believe that hitting is fairly easy. So someone like Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, or Curt Schilling won't get relaistic strikeout numbers in this game?

          3. Does MVP have most or all of the big time pitchers motions captured real to life?

          4. Is speed represented well in MVP? Will Luis castillo and Alfonso Soriano be much faster then Mike Lieberthal?

          5. How often do errors occur in MVP?

          6. On average when do pitchers tire? Some games pitchers throw 50 pitches and there tired by the 5th inning. Can AJ Burnett realistically throw a CG and still have some mustard on his pitches?

Thanks for stopping by and aswering these questions.

              Does MVP have any sliders?

How smooth does it run on PS2?

I can answer on the sliders as well as others who read the interview. There are no sliders. They said they wanted it to be good and "balanced" out of the box.

This guy is legit. Not bringing in any fanboism. Mentioning somthing like "strikeouts a hard to achieve" hasnt even been brought up.

So Whisp, which game turns out more realistic numbers, World Series, or MVP?

Im down to these two for my next purchase.

Im gonna try em both out anyway, but would just like to up my anticipation.

-- I was sent MLB but have not received an assignment to write anything about it yet. I honestly don't even know if it was reviewable, and haven't had time to play it.

                          2. How easy is it to make contact when you are batting in MVP? You mentioned that it's tough to strikeout the computer and it's tough to strikeout when batting. Well...I choose to throw most of my pitches in the zone, but even when I really try to finesse the corners, it's damn hard to k the CPU. I have had 3 k's with a reliever here or there, but struggle to pick up 3 with my starter over 6 innings or so. As for whether the big guns will have realistic k numbers, in sim games they do. I play with the Tribe a lot and I'll sim a game and Sabathia will get 6 ks...I pitch with him and get one.

On the offensive side, I strike out anywhere from 3 to 8 times a game, so it is pretty realistic there. CPU changes speeds well, and high pitches are a B*tch..lol...cuz they're also fun to hit out if they drop just a liiiiittle bit.

                          3. Does MVP have most or all of the big time pitchers motions captured real to life?

I dont know pitchers motions as well as I know the hitters, but I'd say yes. Zito really pulls down on that curve, and some of the other stars I've seen look good. I can tell you that batting stances are GREAT. Tim Salmon even sits there twitching 1,000,000x as each pitch is delivered.

                          4. Is speed represented well in MVP? Will Luis castillo and Alfonso Soriano be much faster then Mike Lieberthal?

Speed seems to be an issue. For one, most balls are hit too hard to really make IFs sweat. Even Ichiro was retired with ease on balls hit anywhere in the IF. Once past first base, or when attempting to steal, then you can tell. A little disappointing in this area though.

                          5. How often do errors occur in MVP?

Pretty infrequently. Enough to make you say "oh shi**" when something happens. Porbably would increase if you're abusing the "throw it in the red part of the meter" tactic.

                          6. On average when do pitchers tire? Some games pitchers throw 50 pitches and there tired by the 5th inning. Can AJ Burnett realistically throw a CG and still have some mustard on his pitches?

I have found that MOST pitchers have better than average stamina. And yes, if you're moving through the game, you'll have no problem getting something on those late inning pitches. The problem, however, is that the accuracy zone shrinks considerably, which leaves you with an increased risk of a "mistake" pitch.

                          Hope that helps.

I have some Questions about mvp.

So, would you say that the runners are a little slow?

Are the feilder's arms a little too strong?

What % of the game was complete when you played it?
