    Rollins NL MVP

Can't say I agree with this one.

"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

I don't think he was even the most deserving candidate on his team.

Wow. Matt got screwed big time. I guess leading the league in hits, batting average, doubles and RBI's is not good enough anymore...

You are absolutely right. When you lead the league in triples that means automatic MVP.

Congrats J-Roll! You talked the talk and then you walked the walk. Kudos.

And yes, he was the most deserving candidate.

LOL. Two Philly dudes sticking up for J-Roll. I understand, but Big Daddy should have won.

Congrats, Jimmy! He deserved it, as did Holliday. I wouldn't have been upset either way.

Chase is taking it next year.

Rollins definitely deserved it. Both were deserving, have no problem if Holliday would have gotten it.

Should have probably been Holliday, but you have to consider that the voting takes place before the postseason. If it would have been after, seeing Holliday carry his team from the WC to the world series, it probably would have gone the other way.

And if the award had been for the best player during the months of July and August, Pat Burrell would have won it.

It's the regular season MVP award....

Like Skerik said, regular season MVP.

And on top of that...and I know I will get crap for this, even though I shouldn't if you think about it...Holliday is Coors Field-created.

Now before people get their undies in a bunch and say "What about Rollins at Citizens Bank Park???"...check the splits for Rollins and then comment.

Either way, the Mets sucked raisins.

                            That's a win-win

I think saying he's Coors Field created is going a little bit too far since he still had an 859 OPS on the road. He was definitely Coors field aided though.

That being said, I would've taken David Wright over both of them.
