Congrats to J-Roll even if he wasn't the most deserving guy on his team.

Philly fan needs to get a grip, accept an award with class, I'm sure you know how to do that...right?

We are. It's everyone else that need to come to grips with reality that the voters voted

Everything he says is exactly correct. LOL at people in this thread that pretend to know baseball disagreeing or saying they didn't read it because they couldn't understand.

The ignorance and homerism is approaching college football forum levels.

I would be scared that I understood that incoherrent dribble. If Rollins wasn't worthy of the MVP, it would require a simple argument. This guy's blog sounds like the manifesto of a manic depressive schizophrenic.

If you are this PO'd, how about you do this...

Take your extraordinary baseball knowledge to the BBWAA and tell them why you know more about baseball than those nitwits and make them reverse their voting.

Meanwhile, us in the real world will chill, knowing that Rollins is the 2007 NL MVP

                    Re: Rollins NL MVP

                    You don't understand

And while the American League has had two freaks of nature who have put up engine room numbers at shortstop - Cal Ripken and the pre-third base Alex Rodriguez - the National League hasn't seen anything quite like the season the Flying Fireplug regaled us with last season since Ernie Banks. Not from a shortstop.

Yes, perfectly valid, except for the fact that Rollins was offensively outplayed by a shortstop in his own league this very year. 2007. The year we're talking about.

                    Flying Fireplug
                    OBP .344
                    OPS+ 118
                    EqA .298
                    BtRuns 15.0
                    VORP 66.1

                    ****ty Assplug
                    OBP .386
                    OPS+ 145
                    EqA .323
                    BtRuns 42.1
                    VORP 89.5

****ty Assplug plays for the Florida Marlins. So yeah, instead of saying "the National League hasn't seen a season quite like this one since 1842!" a better thing to say would be "a season like this hasn't been seen since a season happening at this exact same time, only totally better in almost every way!"

No middle infielder has ever stocked a trophy case in one season with a record 716 at-bats, 212 hits, 139 runs scored, 38 doubles, 20 triples, 30 home runs, 41 stolen bases, 380 total bases and a big man's slugging percentage of .531.

****ty Assplug, Redux: 212 hits, 125 runs scored, 48 doubles, 6 triples, 29 home runs, 51 stolen bases, 359 total bases, and a ****ty man's slugging percentage of .562. Fewer at bats, and 68 fewer outs.

Jimmy Rollins made more outs than any MVP in the history of the National League.
                    ????

But you figured out how to connect to the internet and post on a sports message board?

Why are you trying to turn this into CFB forum part two? Make a point or don't post, trolling homerism contributes nothing.

I can't help it that you just cannot deal with reality.

Funny how you accuse us of this and that, but you have termed us in favor of Rollins as homers, ignorant, biased and those without baseball knowledge.

Guess what...when you go that route, expect the thread to go this way. The facts have already been thrown at you, but you smacked it away because you just cannot fathom the thought of Rollins as the MVP. And that's fine. But it's time you take the foot off the pedal of your crusade, because you're getting into name-calling.

                          Re: Rollins NL MVP

So you contend that being a Phillies fan in no way influences your support of Rollins for MVP?

If not, then I don't see why anything I said is inaccurate. That is the definition of bias. Defending your opinion of your favorite team's player despite facts which say otherwise is the definition of homerism, no?

I have brought actual statistics and what the mvp letter to voters defines value as, and others have brought actual articles, into the thread. You've said nothing but "lolz, rollins is obv the mvp haha heres a fact rollins is the mvp lol 20/20/20/20/20/20/20/20/20 write to voters because hes the mvp" with absolutely no support other than "well rollins is the mvp"

Gosh. And all this time, I thought Rollins being voted as the 2007 NL MVP was enough fact and statistics.

I think you need to chill out. A nice jog around the block will do it.

Jeez, the fact that Palmeiro won the GG makes him a great fielder. Accolades is a terrible way to put a player's value into perspectice.

FJM got it correct -- with humor, too. I don't know how you can't understand what he's saying.

                              Great, humorous blog.

Palmeiro getting a GG pretty much discredits the entire award. Let alone Jeter winning any.

You look like you might be a good poster here.

LOL P2K, is that all you have? We know Rollins was voted MVP. We are discussing why, and you have yet to present anything to support the voting results.
