"ign editors are free agents in wsb thast enough right there to tell me not to trust there reviews, if 10 other sites say the same thing then ill believe it but not just ign"

I may be mistaken, but didn't NHL 2K3 feature Operation Sports in their Thanks section in the manual? I guess we can't trust OP on any more Hockey reviewsSeriously guys, I don't trust IGN reviews. But it isn't some deep dark conspiracy. Sometimes people are just stupid. Just because they are free agents doesn't mean they are bias.

Re: MVP 2003 Review IGN Xbox
I've wanted MVP for a while now, and I'll still be getting it tomorrow. It's no secret that the pitcher/batter interface is what's selling the game. First, the idea of another cursor-based game is totally frustrating. Anyone who has played Netamin's Baseball HR Game will understand this. Second, the guys from EA are right. Any cursor-based game is unrealistic from the real game AND they have to slow down the pitch speed so you can react. I like the idea of timing based hitting and relying on the player stats and D-pad to try and hit. Third, the pitching interface, albeit like playing a golf game, is revolutionary and like others have said, should change the way bbgames are made. There is a risk/reward method that is very realistic and apparently results in very accurate pitch counts. This in itself is enough to sell me the game even if fielding, running, diving, and even manager moves were automated. No, it won't be perfect, but neither will any other game. MVP gets my money this year.

Keep in mind that EA CAnada made MVP BASEBALL and they have a horrible reputation for developing quality sports video games. This is the same developer that made NBA LIVE, NHL 2003, and FIFA 2003. I am NOT surprised that IGN gave MVP Baseball a high review score because IGN usually gives EA games high scores no matter how horrible the game play. IF MVP were published by SEGA or some obscure company, IGN would have probably rated it much lower. I think it was a little far fetched for anyone to believe rationally that MVP would be a realistic game givin EA's reputation for developing baseball games in recent years.

You are wrong because IGN almost always gives high scores to EA games. They have rated past TPB games very high, eventhough they were so awful. IGN even gave NHL 2003 a high score and that game was coaster material.
They SOMETIMES give low scores to SEGA games and others. IGN is biased in favor of EA SPORTS.Comment

Re: MVP 2003 Review IGN Xbox
i don't think that IGN is biased towards anyone. its just that they suck at reviewing sports games. obviosly they have been wrong on numerous games in the past...so why are people reading their reviews and switching their minds about what game to buy. we might as well just go by what some person on this site said they read "somewhere" that EA messed things up and everyone bats left handed or something. wait till the game comes out, play the game, and then form opinions on something other than a guy named hognuts who swears he knows how the game plays and its feature a month early.Comment

Re: MVP 2003 Review IGN Xbox IGN made a terrible review
That IGN reviewer must be smoking something, or looking for a job at Sega. I've played it for more than 8 hours (late night) and it's awsome!
The stuff IGN complains about, like fielder diving, must happen like 1 in 50 because I hardly can see it happening. Maybe it's what I'm doing. (Always position your player around the bottom of the circle so he'll catch it around his head. If he's too high in the circle he'll dive for sometimes cause the ball is landing at his feet)
They also say that the ball will hit the fielders chest and magically appear in his glove. That's gotta be very rare cause I haven't seen it yet.
In terms of looks, it's way better than any other baseball title out there, bar none, and IGN gave it an 8.0 for graphics? I haven't seen better looking night stadiums in my life and they give it an 8?
Franchise mode rocks! I even created a godly pitcher only to find that he was way too expensive to put on my team! I'll get him next year though, assuming he's still there.
Anyway, IGN must have accidently thrown the release version they got from EA in the trash and are still playing the beta. Buy yourself a release copy IGN!Comment
