Re: Everyone post your slider settings if you\'re getting realistc results...

Sup guys, I'm new. I just got WSB2K3 and I Love it. I got some slider settings that are givin me some amazing realism. I've done ALOT of tinkering and decided to post them. Please tell me what you guys think.

Difficulty: legend
Sliders: custum
Pitch Speed: very fast
Cursor: very small
Pitch Cursor: off
Strike Zone: off
Active Bullpen: on
Variable Pitching: high
Pitch Preview: off

CPU Pitching Ability: 100
CPU Batting AVG: 55
CPU Batting Eye (balls): 40
CPU Batting Eye (strikes): 40
CPU Throws Strikes: 1
CPU Stealing %: 45

This is what I'm using right now, and so far I'm lovin it. Gimme some feedback and tell me what you guys think. Peace.

Sup, its me again. I just played the most unbelievably fun game I've ever played. I used the same sliders as above, however i changed batting eye balls to 50, and batting eye strikes to 45. This just helped lower the amount of strikeouts a little. If you want realism, this is the way to go.

I have also tried slider settings similiar to the two above and have had great results. Hits are not too many like with most sliders and the computer strikes out at a fairly realistic rate. I'm still striking out too much because I suck at the legends batting settings. But I've already had some great games. The only thing I did was raise the CPU's batting ability a bit.

Hey Kruza...

I saw you had errors set at high. How are your errors going? Currently through 7 games (all played), I have 1 error at the default setting. I am sort of hesitant to move it to high because I don't want errors to be out of control, but if it's working good for you, I may try that.

It has been great for me with errors setting at 'Many.' I've seen a wider range of errors with this setting. I've seen rushed throws to the 1st baseman go off-line (which may have him step away from the bag in order to reach the ball), an outfielder occasionally drop a harmless fly ball, etc. And just in a recent Cardinals vs. Cubs game I've played, I saw SS Edgar Rentaria (70 Glove rating) bobble a hard-hit short-hop grounder that only the best fielding shortstops could snare. A great sequence I also saw with Renteria was when another fast grounder that was hit to him bounced off the edge of his glove, then the ball rolled all the way where Scott Rolen (3rd baseman) was. Rolen charges toward the ball, picks it up with his bare hand, and proceeds to throw to first with a perfectly-timed press of the 'B' button. But the throw was too late to get the runner. All of the errors I've seen look believable to me, yet it doesn't really get out of control in terms of the frequency of occurence.

I would definitely recommend for everyone to try this setting at least for a couple of exhibition games.

Nice to hear. I may have to check it out. HM Errors are you getting on average per game? I like the fact that you say they are believable. It's not like having an error for the sake of having one. Thanks for the info.

BTW How are your sliders working?

Everyone has a different skill level so saying that one group of sliders is going to make it more realistic is really a dilemma. Everyone really needs to find their own settings which allows them to play at a fun level, for me however I have been unable to find a level yet that really challenges me and that is with everything maxed out in the favor of the computer. This game is very enjoyable however and is funner played with a friend if you can just dominate the franchise.
