Played my first franchise game, the CPU hit a bomb on me.

Try this, turn off the strikezone and hot/cold zones. Pitchers don't see this in real life, why should they now... I think it gives you too much of an advantage. It's better to guess where NOT to pitch it.

That's a great idea. I will try that tonite. Btw, I didn't realize I could turn off hot and cold zones.

I think turning off the strikezone includes taking away the hot/cold zones.

You're right, you can't turn them off. Pitchers and catchers usually know where batters do and don't like pitches, so I guess that is what it portrays. An option to have them off would be the ultimate guessing game, though.

Throwing to hot zones, though, is a way to get the batter to strike out if you throw a good pitch.

Hmmm.. I'm at work so I can't check for sure. I thought you could turn those off. Sorry.

Turn off the strikezone and pitching cursor then.

Guys, the hot-cold chart is super-realistic. Pitchers and catches pore over scouting reports beofre a game to the point that every starter and guy in the bull-pen knows the tendencies of every batter in the line-up and on the bench.

I don't have the game yet, but it sounds like EA screwed up something though. I just don't have a beef with seeing the chart up there.
