Guys, the hot-cold chart is super-realistic. Pitchers and catches pore over scouting reports beofre a game to the point that every starter and guy in the bull-pen knows the tendencies of every batter in the line-up and on the bench.

I don't have the game yet, but it sounds like EA screwed up something though. I just don't have a beef with seeing the chart up there.

exactly. guys have huge books on opposing hitters.

On the topic of no HRs against you, i'd be curious to find out how many runs these people are giving up and how many K's they are getting. Because it is conceivable that you could just keep throwing low low low in the cold zones and not give up HRs but you may be getting small balled to death in the process. I find it much more fun to go after hitters and actually attack their hot zones. It just makes sense, if the pitcher knows it is a cold zone then obviously the hitter does too and he won't wanna swing at balls around that area. You need to entice them by throwing around the hot zones, and the K's will come, so will the HRs against you when you slip up.

Well, like I said, I was unbeaten in 22 games. I gave up anywhere between 0-2 runs per game TOPS. I also was playing the games with the pitching cursor OFF, vibration OFF, and strikezone OFF. I pitched all corners of the plate, whether they be near hot zones or not. Still, no homers. Part of the problem was, I was able to charge the meter to full on every pitch and NEVER miss the green, not even with a tired pitcher. I would routinely go the full 9 with every starter with a fairly small green area remaining and still time it right.

At any rate, the game is on its way back tonight. I can't say that I dislike it, because I don't. I think its a good game with a lot of upside, but it just needs another year or so to iron some things out. Sometimes things like these make me wonder if playtesting actually exists.

              that's just weird.

I've seen a strong balance of things. I havent given up a great amount of homers, but I've seen a couple and I've hit a couple.

I think it's pretty balanced. The CPU could be a bit more advanced in the homerun department but it hasnt been low enough to make me upset.

Re: 22 games into my season, 0 CPU homers against me

I know it's been said, but here's how to get homeruns and give up homeruns:

First off, turn the pitch cursor off. The reason you are dominating is because you are picking your spot, and then nailing the accuracy bar, making it a perfect pitch every time. If you turn your cursor off, you get an "estimate" of where the throw is going to go, and you might leave one in a hot spot, or over the middle of the plate. When you miss the accuracy bar, is when most of the homeruns come. Cliff Floyd and Sheffield took me deep when I missed the accuracy bar.

As far as hitting homeruns, use the "up and left" or "up and right" technique. However, be patient. I've found out that with your top hitters (mine is Guerrero), they will throw 1 or 2 balls in a row to start off the count, to see if you chase. If you get a 2-0, or 2-1 count, they might leave one over the plate and you can rip it. I just hit 4 homers (back to back with Vidro and Guerrero in the first, Michael Barrett, Cordero later on).

                      Teddy,

Hmm some red flags went off.

First off there's no way to pitch all the way to ninth when you load up your cursor all the way to the red on every pitch. That's what you made it sound like.

I don't give up many homeruns but then again I have low soring games. I never pitch too the heavy hitters. I would rather walk A-Rod, or Bonds then let them hit again me. So there's my reason.

Well I have surely given up my share of hr's. I also have the cursor and vibration off. The most notible was when Manny Ramirez hit a 2 run shot off Rivera in the botton of the 12(Think it was the 12th) to win the game.
