Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!

Just got done playing a game with XCell's sliders off of his site. Here are the results:

    Cin 6 13 0
    LA 1 9 2

Player of the game: Boone 3-4 2RBI 2SB
    WP: Graves 7IP 8H 1R 1ER 1BB(intentional) 4K
    LP: Nomo 5IP 7H 4R 4ER 0BB 3K
    HR: Branyan, Larkin

    LA Pitching-116 pitches/82 strikes 0BB 7K
    CIN pitching-87 pitches/62 strikes 1BB 5K
    Stolen Bases Cin 2/6

Notes: I had two hard hit grounders that the 1st baseman dove and snagged and I beat the pitcher who was covering the bag to first both times and the hits were ruled errors
I also bought a High Def pack for the Xbox and hooked it up to get Dolby Digital sound and hooked the video up to the component video on my big screen and all I can say is DAMN! I could hear all kind of background sounds I didn't hear before and the game looks better than any sports game I have ever played! Also picked up the Action Replay for Xbox, so if anyone has a list of ALL of the roster changes that need to be made, I will work on a roster save! If not, I am sure someone will have a roster update soon for download with the AR!

Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!

I finally got it! I have taken all the slider settings posted here to date and I tinkered with them and I have them perfect I played 2 games and they were so realistic. I had 8 hits and 9 hits in them and the CPU had 6 hits and 10 hits. The scores were 2-1 and 3-1, it was like real baseball!

      CPU Pitch- 77
      CPU Bat- 22
      CPU Eye Ball- 85
      CPU Eye Str- 65
      CPU Throw K- 8
      Steal 50

AWESOME GAME!! I have waited for years ever since Sammy Sosa High Heat 2001 for the PC to find a decent baseball sim and I have!

I play on Legend, with small cursor, MVP, and pitch preview on b/c I stink!

Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!

Here me out here...of course you can argue which setting is best for different people, but my question is, if you wanted to make your CPU pitching at its strongest, dispite the realism factor, where should you have it?

My answer to that is CPU PA-100, with MVP correct? Even at that setting I've been getting realistic results...not too much or not too little, I play with small batting cursor, and fast pitching. What do you guys think?

                          Fanatic,

It seems like you are getting solid results. Could you please post all of your current settings? I'd really appreciate it as would everyone else. And what is it that you mean when you refer to MVP or HVP, im not sure I understand that.
                          Thanks a lot.

                              MVP-Medium variable pitching.
                              HVP-High variable pitching.

Now what did does to the CPU and USER is dramatic. I was educated in this by fellow WSB players of this MB(message board.) Basically, if you have you're pitching variability to MVP then you'll tend to hit your location where you intended them. At HVP, you won't have as much control, and if you wanted to put a fastball high it might go higher or lower than intended. Of course, this vary depending on the quality of the pitchers, and their stamina during the game.

I play on HVP while I set the CPU pitching at MVP. Mine is at HVP because I felt that I was getting too many K's against the CPU and I wanted to make it harder for me to pitch. CPU has theirs at MVP because I wanted to make it difficult to hit.

My unofficial settings (unofficial because I have to still tweak the CPU batting sliders) are as follows:

CPU PA - 100 with MVP
                              CPU BA - 35
                              CPU BE(B) - 90
                              CPU BE(S) - 60
                              CPU TS - 5
                              CPU SB - 45

I play on HVP, no pitch cursor, K-zone, pitch preview, small batting cursor, fast pitch speed.

I think I've maximized the CPU pitching. Only thing that I could think about changing is that if CPU pitching gets too easy where I can hit anything anytime then I'll change the batting cursor to very small. But I don't see that happening anytime soon. Only thing that I MAY alter is the CPU BA and/or CPU BE(S) if CPU gets too little or too many hits and K's with a great pitcher like Pedro Martinez. I'm going to test these out tonight, and post results later.

If anyone tries these out and post their results that could be helpful too. I do apprciate any comments or criticisms.
