Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!

    Jrod,

I have settings very close to that of WSB and I am getting very realistic pitch counts. I usually walk on average 2-3 batters a game. Counts go very deep, my starting pitchers will always get over a 100 plus pitches.

The key is having the Batting Eye strieks and balls really high with a lower Batting average. That way they don't swing at a ton of balls, they will try to make contact with most strikes but won't always make contact or good contact (foul balls). You can still paint strikes in on the corners and get them looking. My strikeouts numbers are usually pretty good 9-10 a game.

Plus on my end I get great pitch counts, wakl 3 times or so a game. Always have deep counts so I can tire out the starting pitcher.

Alot of the control over pitch counts is up to the user.

I have go to say that these are some pretty good sliders. For the first time the CPU is swinging a balls that are no where close to the zone. It's baseball.

I wasn't feeling WSB until I found these sliders. Must better now.

Glad to know they're working for you. If possible do you have the box score for the games you've played so far just to get an objective viewpoint for everyone here?

Also, just a note to everyone using sliders: it mostly depends on how you play the game, your skill level, and also the teams you're using and playing against. So don't expect 50 rated pitchers to do as well as 90 rated ones. I'm sure you all know this, but I' hate for people to say they didn't like my slider settings because of playing styles.

          Anyways, have fun with them.

Well I'm not going to write down a box score... too lazy

              Anyway just some observations.

Omar Daahl struck out 10 Rockies their 4 or 5th pitcher I can't remember his name was completely useless. He had a few on me but I shelled him for 5 in 5 innings then he was pulled.

Omar Daahl and Shawn Chacon battle it out to a 2-0 game Chacon leaked two out in the 8th before I could get in relief. Daahl cruised 8 innings with 4 hits and like I said 10 k's. Kim then struck out two in the 9th for the save.

In my two games with it good pitchers are good and bad pitchers are hittable. Plus I always seem to take 1st strikes so if it's a meatball I don't take it all that often.

I play with no cursor, strike zone only for the CPU because I like to see how close my pitcher are. It doesn't really add anything or make it easier. Small cursor and fast pitches.

Oh one other thing, I don't have it set at 90 and 85 respectively. Last night I forget what your settings were so I thikn they 70-65. I think but don't quote me on that. I'll look them up tonight.

Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!

Obviously it depends on individual skill level, but I had some good results in my last game with these sliders...

My hitting sliders are low because I'm just learning to hit with this game, but I feel my pitching is very strong. So, I'll share those with you guys.

                      Last Game:

Toronto (me) 4 runs, 7 hits, 7 K's by Tor staff, 67 balls/25 balls thrown.

                      Yankees 3 runs, 7 hits.....

Basically, a very realistic game in terms of CPU batting performance. While I was only using Mark Hendrikson (my 4th starter), I still think they were some good results.

                      CPU Batting- 33
                      CPU BE (B)- 70
                      CPU BE (S)- 70

pitch cursor off, strike zone off, medium variability, vibration off

At this level for batting (33), I feel the CPU doesn't strikeout quite as much. At around the 23-25 range, I felt they were getting about 10 or so a game. Hopefully this will drop to around 6-8 now.

With the batting eye at 70, I feel it balances out the slightly higher batting ability (33 now vs. 25) When its dropped to 50 or so, the pitch counts are too low in my opinion.

Anyways, just wanted to see if anyone is finding the same thing.

                      Later.

Tigers (ME): 4 runs, 8 hits, 0 errors, 40 balls thrown, 2 walks, 5 SO
Blue Jays: 3 runs, 7 hits, 1 error, 50 balls thrown, 4 walks, 7 SO.
