Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!

Millenium...I think you hit it right on the mark. Though the settings you suggested may be different for different players, but the theory behind it is, in my opinion at least, abolutely correct. I think that it should be good. The CPU BA at 37 seems good because at 40 they were hitting everything and at 35 I was able to get through gamesl without a sweat.

I"m going to try CPU BA at 37, CPU BE(B) 90, and CPU BE(S) at around 75-85. Personally, I feel that the CPU BE(S) is the key slider at this point for realistic pitch counts, number of Ks, BBS, hits, and runs against the CPU.

I say go for it...I like what I'm hearing. Im going to try this out on Thursday or Friday since I'm away now.

All sliders the same as my earlier posts except CPU BA at 32, BE(b) at 90, BE(s) at 70.

I dont remember everything exactly like pitch counts because I accidently exited the Box Score, but I checked through the game periodically so I know a close amount.

I won the game 5-0...one thing I do know if each team had 6 hits.

They struck me out about 5 times and walked me like 4 times. There was probably about 30 or more balls thrown to me.

I struck them out 8 times and walked 2 which I know for sure because my pitcher was Player of the game and I saw it.

But, they were still swinging at pretty much every strike. Imma lower the BE(s) some more and see what I get. Imma also raise the CPU BA and see if I can get around 8 hits a game or so.

perhaps, the thing you should keep in mind is that when you have the CPU BE(S) at 70 or higher, they are going to swing at a lot of strikes. But depending on your CPU BA they'll hit or miss. I found that at 35 they showed a good mix. What I mean by that is that with a good pitcher like Millwood, I was able to get 8Ks against the Marlins, but with someone like Meyers, I could get around 3-5 if I'm lucky. However, that wasn't my problem. My problem was the pitch counts. I wasn't throwing close to 100 pitches a game. That's mainly because I threw mostly strikes to the CPU. Now, I understand that I shouldn't play a game like that, but the fact that I can ruins the game for me. I needed to feel that if the CPU made contact with it on a 3-2 pitch then they would make me pay for it. CPU BA at 37 seems like a good spot for that. I'm going to have it at 35, 36, or 37 before the end of the week I'm sure of that much so far. With the CPU BE(S) at 85 they do swing a lot, but that's when I throw it down the zone all the time. I found times when they watched pitches on the corners go for Ks, and with the CPU BE(B) at 90 they didn't swing at balls most of the times, but sometimes they would. THis is good for me because I want to throw more BBs and hence get a better pitch count by the end of the day.
With CPU BA at 37 I know that if they hit the ball I'll pay for it, making me wary of throwing it down in the zone a lot. With CPU BE(S) at 85 I know that they'll swing at it a lot, but I do understand that people don't like the fact that they swing at everything. I'm still going to have to work on this. And with the CPU BE(B) at 90 I'll throw more BBs and at the same time get the CPU Swinging at them occacionally.

                One more thing to Millenium.
I agree that there should be some separation with the BE(B) and the BE(S), but I think the BE(B) should always be higher. I liked it at 90 because I needed to walk the CPU more than get Ks.

BE(S) is the key area left for me. CPU BA at 37 is going to make be wary of throwing strikes to them, but whether they'll swing at it or not is the questions. That's where the BE(S) needs to be adjusted.

Tell me what you find out?

Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!

So far, I have come up with:

CPU Pitching - 95-100 (User prefence depending on patience at the plate)
                    CPU BA - 37
                    BE(s) - 60
                    BE(b) - 85
TS - 1 (is Pitching is set to 99 or 100), 2 (Pitching set to 98 or 97), 3 (Pitching set to 96 or 95).
Steal - I have it at 60, because this also creates baserunning aggressiveness, but have had it all the way to 100 before, still experimenting.

it seems to me that everyone is using the wrong sliders. i keep reading everyones sliders and their outcomes of games and all the games are like 2-1 or 4-3 with about 10-15 total hits for both teams combined! this is the live ball era teams average about 6 runs a game and get about 12-15 hits a game. i think alot of people need to turn down the computer pitching. just a thought but if you read the post there are way too many low scoring games.

it seems to me that everyone is using the wrong sliders. i keep reading everyones sliders and their outcomes of games and all the games are like 2-1 or 4-3 with about 10-15 total hits for both teams combined! this is the live ball era teams average about 6 runs a game and get about 12-15 hits a game. i think alot of people need to turn down the computer pitching. just a thought but if you read the post there are way too many low scoring games.

Actually I play the Philles, and I'm into offense as the next guy, but I'm more a die hard sim person. So I look into what are reasonable number during play. Source: espn.go.com

Therefore, on average USER and CPU should get about
3-6 runs per game, 8-10 hits, and get struck out 4-8
                                times.

When Pitching...the USER and CPU should get about 3-6
runs given up, 8-10 hits given up, and strike out 4-9
                                players per game.
