Wow, 7 games out 162 and you're getting all excited...Woooooooooohoooooooo. Should we fit them for their World Series rings yet? Or should we wait til the 7th inning of game 6 to do that. People that get this pumped about there team 7 games into the season crack me up.

Hayes you've been living with those Giants fans too long, it's made you jaded.
Of course I was the same way when I was stuck up there.Comment

C'mon now, if anybody's team started out 7-0 they'd be a little (overly) excited, and understandably so.

If you ever spent alot of time in the Bay Area or around a large population of Giants fans, you would know exactly what Hayes and I are talking about. One day remind me to tell you the Robby Thompson story.

Re: Giants!!!
You guys crack me up! Of course I'm pumped for my team. You'd be too if you started out 7-0. What's wrong with that? I have qualified everything I've said here with "I know it's early...". I even posted in the Padre's thread that I thought the Giants would lose tonight, and lo and behold, it happened. I'll be ecstatic if they make it to the postseason again, but I know the baseball playoffs are the hardest to get into in all of sports. That's what makes them so special.
I'm talking about both good and bad things about my team. Isn't that what this forum is all about? Discussion?
I think it's funny that you're jumping all over me when we hear crap from Yankee fans all the time, and no one says anything about it.Comment

Thats because the Yankees actually have some rings to back it up, although I tend to agree with you about them.
I know plenty about Giants fans, like I said in the other thread. 4 years living in the bay area, and spending so much time at Candlestick. By the way, Pac Bell is amazing, after going there its so hard to believe they ever played in a dump like the 'Stick.
For the record, I would be shocked if the Giants don't win the West this year. Actually barring a ton injuries or some meltdowns I would be shocked if they don't win the National League Pennant this year. Don't want you to think I am just a Giant basher. I truly believe they are the class of the National League.

Ok, I know it's only 4 games into the season, and the teams they've played have been sub-standard, but is anyone doubting that they'll be a force to reckon with in the West?
Durham was the best addition to their team followed closely by Alfonso and Cruz. There's gonna be a lot of runs coming from the top of the lineup.
Has anyone noticed that the bullpen hasn't given up any runs in 13 innings so far? No, they haven't been facing premier lineups, but their starters have been giving up runs to those same players.
I'm not really sold on Grissom, but as a #8 hitter he's a HUGE improvement over Shinjo.
Thoughts anyone?

Ok, I think you encountered the 3rd type of fan that every team has... the ones just like to talk a lot of crap. Most of the Giants fans I know aren't like that, but every city has their share of them. I lived in L.A. for 11 years and had to put up with myopic Dodger fans everwhere I went. They are the worst fans I've ever come in contact with. I used to love to go to Dodger stadium when the Giants were playing. There were always more Giants fans than Dodger fans, or at least they were louder.
I can't wait for the Dodger series this weekend. I'm going to Sunday's game!!!
