Why do people keep listing Sammy Sosa? It's all speculation but I'd like to hear why people think he's clean. Here are some Sosa facts:

        1. in the Mitchell Report
        2. corked bat
        3. forgot how to speak English when asked about cheating
        4. got MUCH smaller and lost a lot of pop in his bat once accused of juicing

For the person who mentioned Cal Jr, you have to at least add Tony Gwynn to that list... and possibly Wade Boggs. I'd keep Maddox on any list also.

          1. No mention of Sammy in the Report
          2. They scanned all his bats in the HOF from prior seasons and found nothing in them.
          3. He clearly didn't want to say things and state in the wrong way. You word something wrong and you could be in trouble
4.maybe he lost pop in his bat because unlike other juicers when sammy got old he showed his age.

I don't think so, he was a naturally big guy though he did have a lot of injuries over his career that I wouldn't necessarily attribute to PEDs. In fact, I heard an interview with him last week or so as he was elected to the Canadian baseball HOF and he said that he's struggling with his weight these days.

I'm an O's fan, I know very well how much the roid cloud was over Sammy's head

              2. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/bas...sa_ejected_ap/ and this is directly from his entry on Wikipedia:

Sosa stated that he had accidentally used the corked bat, which he claimed he only used during batting practice. But they soon interviewed the Cubs' manager, who said that any use of corked bats on his team is strictly prohibited.
              3. If he didn't do anything wrong, what could he say wrong?

              4. Numbers dropped dramatically.

I never said he did them, I'm just wondering why so many seem to think he was clean (which to me, means they'd be very surprised if it turned out he did). There's clearly a lot of reason to NOT be surprised if it turned out he did.

Come on, he's gotta be clean!
Actually i mentioned Olerud on my list.

About Mo Vaughn: I was unaware that he was in the Mitchell report so we can scratch him off the list.

                  1. Sammy Sosa Denied using Steroids in 2005. Yet there is no Sammy Sosa Perjury Case is there?

                  2. Like I said right after it happened. They Checked many of his prior bats and none of them had any Cork in them.

                  3. I'm sticking to my point. He could easy word something wrong

                  4. Yeah It's natural for numbers to drop as you get old. Hank Aaron went from 40 HRs to 20 HRs in one year as he got older. It's Natural.

Huh? There's a link that says he was in the Mitchell report... you said he wasn't. I don't even understand your defense but there really isn't much of one for that anyway.

And as for them checking prior bats, what does that have to do with the bat they found that was corked that he used during the game? His manager shot down his lame excuse for it too. If I remember the story correctly, someone else actually went in and stole the bat from where it was being held for testing too.

You can think what you want but you're talking out of your ear. Like I said, I don't necessarily think he was juicing but it'd still be silly to say there's no reason to think he was.

I'm not so sure that the prevalence of steroids is significantly higher in batters than pitchers. We have Clemens, Pettitte, and a bunch of minor league pitchers that have gotten suspended in recent times. Not saying that batters probably have used more, I just don't think you can say most pitchers.

That's the Mitchell Report right from the source, with all the players who were in it. All that article says is he was suspected for using steroids, which he denied and if it were a big lie I would expect him to be in a perjury case by now.

About the bat, it was one time and I believe his excuse, if it were something he were trying to do all those bats they scanned would of had cork in them, So they checked all his bats current bats, plus bats from the past when he hit 60's and other milestones
