I like Longoria, I think he's going to be a great player, but why do you pintch hit him against a righty over the lefty? The move screams "I just want to get the kid an at-bat!"

Despite that choke job just now, I'm very impressed with the crowd turnout tonight.

They should abandon using the Pro in the WBC, though. The game is much more entertaining when the fans are into it.

you guys are both dead on and joe morgan and them said the same thing about leaving oswalt in and trying to please other managers for the major league teams by leaving oswalt in to get some pitches in there so he's good to go with the astros. or putting a righty vs a righty just ****ing stupid. this is not spring training if oswalt was worried and still wanted to be in spring training he should of stayed there. and davey johnson is pissing me off to no end

You wanna know how obvious it was that Victorino should have been batting instead of Longoria? Even Joe Morgan knew it.

It's just baseball common sense that with a man on third and less than two outs a lefty has a better shot of getting the run in. And asking Longoria to come off the bench and face a righty with a 95 mph fastball with movement that he's never seen before is a tall order. If he wanted to get Longoria into the game, using him when Dunn had to face that tough lefty would have made more sense.

Why wasn't Scot Shields on the mound in the first place?

This inning is just chalked full of fail. Shields is probably the best non-closer in the MLB, and we don't use him?
