but didnt he only play there 2 years... safeco opened in 1999 didnt it?... He never hit more than 45 homers with Seattle, and that was when he had Griffey hitting behind him.... Out of 300+ homers in his career, most came in opponenets ballparks, and in Arlington.... Im not really a big thing on the ball park factor most of the time, but with todays ballplayers, that seems to be the argument for most.... But like I said b4, i dont knock his talents, i just think the comparisons are ill-fated, and unfair to all the players... We tend to compare players more on the numbers, than on their abilities, and there opponents.... I really think if a player like Ernie Banks, Mickey Mantle, and someone people dont mention very often when discussing a complete player, is Roberto Clemente, and Willie Mays. These guys would dominate in such a way i think, that guys like A-Rod would be hitting 6th and 7th in their lineups, instead of 3rd and 4th.

I haven't been following the thread, is Pauly trying to argue that he is more complete than A-rod or something? at this point in their careers A-rod is decent amount better than Soriano. Personally I think A-rod is trying to save his body for the Homerun record, why else would he stop stealing. He still has 40+ steals in him a year, I think it's smart. At ths point that is the ONLY thing Soriano has on A-rod. I believe A-rod would put up the same exact numbers if he played in Yankees stadium. Soriano is one of the better players in the leauge but Alex is EASILY the best in the league, by a decent margin.

I'm not saying one is better than the other really, just that when you look at their overall talents, people knock Soriano because of his low walks, and because he made alot of errors early last season, but he has improved 100% on his defense, and i think he could be a gold glove calibur 2Bman as early as this year... to this point he has 0 errors in 140+ innings with 81 total chances... thats just awesome, especially considering, they've played about half of those innings indoors on the artificial turf.Comment

I agree with your first point about ARod saving himself for the HR record...
But what does playing at Yankee Stadium have to do with the number of steals you get?Comment

Pretty much the whole paragraph, but especially this part. What do you mean by "guys like A-rod." What other guys are like A-rod. Seriously, what would a guy like A-rod have to do to hit 3rd in one of there lineups? Hit 73 homeruns and steal 55 bases while knocking in 200? I would love to hear your assesment of Todd Helton.

I meant in General, not steals. Cause he said that Arlington is a much betters hitters park than Yankees stadium.Comment

Re: ALFONSO SORIANO: Is He The Most Complete Player in MLB?
Woo hoo... Soriano doesn't have any errors so far. We're talking about 3 weeks here. He was so horrible last year, I think we should reserve judgement on his defense for later in the season. He still has 5.5 months left to screw it up. If he truly is awesome now, then great. I still don't think we can call him a complete player until he proves himself defensively a little more. Great hitter and base stealer, yes. But that's about it.Comment
