If he revolutionized it so much, than why do people rarely talk about him?

It may seem that I'm just backing up bkrich83, but thats not how it is, I can careless what he does. I really don't think Ernie Banks did anything to the SS position... A-Rod changed it. Look at how much he gets payed...SS leading the league in homers... and alot more...

i'm sorry dude, no offense, but that is an ignorant comment

i dont think its so much an ignorant comment as it is just a hard point to make... but banks led the majors, not just the NL in homers 2 times, and RBI's 2 or 3 times, in a time when Mantle, Mays, Maris, Aaron, and Berra were all still in their prime.. If thats not a dominant SS, I dont know what is.

that's because he played in an era where if you weren't in the world series you didn't play on t.v. they didn't have cable then, besides who cares if people don't talk about him. his numbers speak for themselves. talk to the people who played with and against him and i'll bet they sure as hell talk about him

i gotta go w/ werner on this one (ss) banks hit 500 dingers when no other ss could even touch a quarter of that. if he would've played on world series team he would've gotten more recognition.

Agreed, but we'll see where Arod winds up. Despite this being his 10th year in the big leagues, he's not even gonna be 28 till July. He already has 305 HR's.

                      His career averages:
.309 44 HR 127 RBI 23 SB. To go along with Gold Glove quality defense.

He continues like this at all, then he will have to ba considered with the all time greats. Not just one of the good players of our time like Pauly suggested.
