Woo hoo... Soriano doesn't have any errors so far. We're talking about 3 weeks here. He was so horrible last year, I think we should reserve judgement on his defense for later in the season. He still has 5.5 months left to screw it up. If he truly is awesome now, then great. I still don't think we can call him a complete player until he proves himself defensively a little more. Great hitter and base stealer, yes. But that's about it.

Re: ALFONSO SORIANO: Is He The Most Complete Player in MLB?
I agree with your first point about ARod saving himself for the HR record...
But what does playing at Yankee Stadium have to do with the number of steals you get?
<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
if you play in a hitter's park why would attempt steals and possibly take the bat out of palmeiro's hands?Comment

Re: ALFONSO SORIANO: Is He The Most Complete Player in MLB?
this is a LONG thread, and i'm lazy, so i didn't read it all. not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but the most complete player in baseball is Vladimir Guerrero, not ARod or Soriano.
Vlad is king!Comment

LOL... Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and as of right now, judging by numbers, it is AROD, but wait until Soriano has a few more seasons under his belt, he can only get better. I wonder sometimes, if Soriano wasnt a Yankee, how much credit he would get from you guys who dont like the Yanks.
No errors this time, when he already had 6 by this time last season is a vast improvement. Soriano has the same amount of erros as AROD, what else does he have to do to prove his defensive skills are better than the first month of the season last year.... He made 23 errors last year, none of which came after august, so he played the last 2 months of the season commiting no errors. AROD has speed, and no, he doesnt need to use it the same way Soriano will, but they wouldnt intentionally walk palmeiro to pitch to Juan if he did steal a base, would they. And if all hes trying to do is save his body for some personal record, that dont say much for him as a person or teammate. Which goes to one of my earlier posts, what exactly is looked at when trying to find a complete player??? one of the main things is HUSTLE... if you have no heart in what you're doing, and you're only playing for yourself, you will never get the ultimate, which is win a world series, and soriano already has played in 2.... Soriano and Vlad, hustle down the line on ground outs, A-Rod, shuffles out of the box. Its reasons like that why A-Rod will never be on a winning team.Comment

, You obviously haven't seen A-rod play AT ALL other than his home run trots on baseball tonight. The reason he isn't on a winning team is Ismael Valdes is their best pitcher
. See Seattle. You haven't seen a-rod play, have you? How would staying healthy be a negative thing. If he reaches one of the great milestones on the way, great. Also, he doesn't hit leadoff....... You are so sad. Very ignorant when it comes to alex. Oh and just to make this clear to everyone, I watched him pretty much everyday of his career in Seattle, and he was the most hustling guy I had ever seen. I can't tell you how many infield hits he had. I haven't had the oppurtunity to watch him everday the last too years. However every game i've seen he still hustles hard down the line.........

Listen you little prick, I've seen him play in person at least 10-12 times in the last 3 years, I watch just about every game on TV thats broadcasted. So before you go calling someone sad, get your knowledge straight... If you want to stay healthy, thats one thing... If it effects the win-loss record of your team thats another... What good is it to have him on a team, not trying to help them win, and only thinking about a record which people like you overexaggerate on. this goes back to my judment about him being compared to players from the past... picture him playing for the 61 Yankees, or the 75 Reds... where would you put a guy like that in your lineup, granted he was facing better pitching than he does now? do you think he would hit 57 homers in a time where guys like Harmon Killabrew, Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris were all hitting those numbers. where would he hit on that 61yankees lineup?Comment
