I think we can add Cubs GM Jim Hendry to this list. As many expected the signing of Milton Bradley has completely blown up in his face.

The Cubs have suspended Bradley for the rest of the season. And Hendry has said he is not sure if the Cubs/Bradley relationship is "fixable". 2 years and $20 million dollars left on his contract says they better try. The Cubs already tried to trade Bradley at the trade deadline with no luck, i don't see it getting any easier for them over the winter.

Riiiiight....A pitcher with a sub 2.50 ERA is not "dominant". Man, i'd love to smoke what Jim Rice is smokin' cuz he's obviously in another world.

He must have snorted Dock Ellis' ashes. That's the only explanation I can come up with.

I haven't used this thread in a couple months but I feel it's necessary after reading that article. Here's a snippet:

But sometimes I guess we get guys who just feel like it's their job to show everyone how much smarter they are than the rest of us. Armed with all their sabermetrics, Carroll and Law — and obviously a lot of other voters — were able to determine that winning the most games in the heat of a pennant push was not nearly as important as looking good while losing.
Burwell is an idiot and I will forever disregard all of his opinions on baseball.

                            Holy face palm batman!

Well, I would say it's more important that the better pitcher wins the award for best pitcher rather than the luckiest pitcher.

                            Idiot.

Look, I'm into sabermetrics as much as anyone...I completely agree that victories are a poor way to evaluate a pitcher. I don't think this guy's point, however, is too far off...a good argument can be made that Carpenter/Wainright actually outpitched Timmy down the stretch. I wouldn't fault a voter for considering that at all when casting a vote.
