Re: 6/8-6/14 MLB Discussion
Yea...I heard it was an inner-ear infection a while back, and thought oh he should be back soon then. Take some antibiotics, and viola...taken care of. I'm guessing it's much more complicated than that at this point, and now all of this stress talk...weird.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: 6/8-6/14 MLB Discussion
The list of players recently placed on the DL with an anxiety disorder continues to grow. Greene, Votto, Greinke, D-Train, etc. Its not surprising considering the amount of stress and the spotlight the players are under...not to mention the very little we still know about the complexities of the human brain.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: 6/8-6/14 MLB Discussion
I think it has more to do with the fact that Detroit got away with it, and now other teams see a loop hole to get guys onto the DL who simply aren't playing well. I'm sure some are legitimate, but I find it hard to believe these guys are so stressed out that they can't play otherwise everybody in a slump could be a DL candidate.Comment

Re: 6/8-6/14 MLB Discussion
Hell no, I hate Sox/Yanks series because I no longer have the stamina to make it through 4 hour games 3 nights in a row. I actually have tickets for Thursday night's festivities where the Yankees are expected to take BP for 4 hours in the rain against Brad Penny. I got those tickets for my buddy's birthday thinking the weather in June will be better than the weather in April, and the weather for that series against the Yankees turned out beautiful. Go figure.
Johnny Damon's home slugging vs road: .620/.480 That's the kind of split you'd expect to see for a Rockies player.
And that walk to Teixeira was Beckett's 31st of the year after issuing 40 all of last year. Yuck.
Damn I feel bad for the people at tonight's game. That looks miserable.Comment

Re: 6/8-6/14 MLB Discussion
For some reason putting on a Yankees uniform has made Burnett suck against Boston. He only lasted 2.2 tonight allowing 5 runs. Nevertheless, I've seen him throw a stinker against Boston and still manage to avoid the L so I'm not holding my breath.Comment

Re: 6/8-6/14 MLB Discussion
Just over 3 hours for tonight's game, I'll take it. After that two out walk to Teixeira in the first, Beckett was incredible. Just one hit allowed over 6 innings and it was a groundball that Pedroia got to but bobbled on the transfer (wet grass). He was likely removed after 6 because Boston had some long innings at the plate in putting up 7 runs. Interesting stat, in the 6 games between the two teams this year the Yankees have hit 9 Red Sox vs 2 for Boston. Two of those were Jason Bay and both were clearly intentional (he's hitting .521 against NY so far this year). Delcarmen tried to plunk Jeter in the 8th but failed miserably. It's something to watch going forward.Comment
