Didn't see the game but by looking at the stats and such it looks like the Jays wasted a great outing by Romero by not being able to cash in with RISP. Oh well, I expected them to win 2 out of the 4 (well 3 now) games in that series so it was a success.

Re: 6/8-6/14 MLB Discussion
Well I enjoyed being wrong about Penny tonight, and the weather turned out to be as well as expected. He pitched fairly well, though that 25 pitch first inning really set him back. He allowed hits but most were groundballs that found holes. Nick Swisher didn't exactly show off his base running skills this series, I couldn't believe he got doubled off on that fly ball by Cervelli. He stung it pretty well but it was obvious off the bat it wasn't going to have enough steam to carry to the wall. That was a huge play early on. Girardi tried to get just a little too much out of CC. Given the Yankees pen I don't really blame him though. CC should be good for 120 pitches any given night, and I didn't think it was a bad move to leave him in to face Drew. Drew did double earlier but his career marks coming in against CC were poor. Though that Pedroia at-bat was a killer.
All in all, a great night to be at the park.Comment

Shin Soo Choo's new approach at the plate: See-gull, hit gull.
If Crisp throws him out, do you score it Gull-8-2?
Talk about a fowl ball...

Can't say I'm suprised, I missed the game today but I'm sure the Cubs front office is still convinced Bradley is better than DeRo.Comment

Re: 6/8-6/14 MLB Discussion
I know the Phillies strike out quite a bit, but its still impressive to see Lester strike out the side in back-to-back innings (with the exception of the Blanton punch-out).
Halladay left his start with an injury tonight. No word on what he hurt but in looking at the replay it looked like a groin pull. Hopefully it's not shoulder related.
It was confirmed to be a right groin pull/strain. This also ends Halladay's streak of starts of at least 7 innings. Halladay had gone at least seven (including coming off back-to-back complete games) in each of his 13 starts this season.Comment

I think it's safe to say Lester has figured things out. His line tonight:
7 IP, 1ER, 2H, 2BB, 11K, 111 pitches (74 strikes)
This is his third consecutive start of 3 hits allowed or fewer with at least 11 strikeouts. He'll need the bullpen to protect a one-run lead in order for him to get a win though.Comment
