lmao. Guess that's a problem they forgot to throw money at.

EDIT: I just finally got the highlight to play. WOW indeed...lol. that was awful.

Whoa...are you serious? I can't believe I missed that ending! I was hoping for a Mets and Phils loss tonight.

I would think Manuel would have asked them to go to it if he wasn't satisfied and no one made a stink about it. I think you're just looking for a reason to feel cheated. The Phils get to take some hacks at a rookie trying to get his first save, they're not out of this yet.

Luke Hochevar with an 80 pitch complete game to beat the Reds tonight. That's about the only way the Royals can win, not go to the bullpen.

I like how after he drops it he throws the ball to second when a good throw at least results in a play at the plate. I don't think Castillo has the arm strength to actually get the out but its at least worth a shot.

When was the last time someone was able to throw a complete game on 80 pitches or less? That's deadball era efficiency.

And the Rangers shut out the team with the best record in baseball. I don't know what's better, that or the fact that it was Padilla and freakin Jennings who did it lol.

Back to back shut-outs for Texas, at home!? What is the world coming to?

Texas shuts out the best team in baseball. Not a bad way to start the series.

What were you watching? Manuel was out there having a long conversation about it, but he can't force the umpire to look at it. It's the umpire's discretion.

And don't tell me what you think I'm thinking.

edit: if Bard sees the mound again this series..... I wouldn't even think of coming close to throwing inside.

And at no point did he seem angry. When managers ask the umps to go to replay they usually oblige. Dobbs also had a good look at it and if you think he would just shrug his shoulders and pick up his bat after getting cheated out of a walk-off homerun then yeah, I think you're looking for an excuse. And this is a messageboard, it's sole purpose is to allow people to tell share what they think, if you can't handle that then don't participate.

Bard ends up striking out the side for the win, but not without walking and hitting a batter (unintentional). Ibanez took 99 mph off the arm. It looked like he got hit just above the elbow. It sounds odd to say someone is fortunate for getting hit with a 99 mph pitch, but he's definitely fortunate that one didn't get bone.
