So what happens when someone reveals that Pujols took roids in the minors?

Then all the Cards fans who right now are claiming "Pujols is a moral, upstanding citizen who'd NEVER do such a thing" will say "Well, everyone was doing it, including the pitchers, and he's still the best hitter out there, so who cares?" If we've learned anything from the steroid scandals of the last few years, it's this: cheating is bad, unless a player I like or who plays for my favourite team gets caught. Ain't moral relativism grand?

im not surprised either. i knew ortiz was on the juice because his dramatic jump in home runs between the twins and the sox. at least arod unlike ortiz was able to produce after roiding

I want to know who the leak is and what they are getting out of it. That would be a worthy breaking news flash.

Here's what I don't get. The leak for Bonds got hit hard with jail time.

I guess we will get leaked names every 4-6 months now. I've said it after Manny's supension... I am not surprised. The only thing that dissapoints me is the fact that I was a fan of baseball during the "steroid era".

Not only that, but they don't always get the best of advice from their offseason trainers as to what they can/can't take. Throw that in with the fact that supplement regulations in the DR, et al are a joke, and you have a recipe for disaster.

Not saying I believe that Manny, Ortiz, Sosa, etc. didn't know what they were taking, I am merely wondering aloud.

I don't think that's the true case. I think they are more likely to be offered steroids and to then take it.

Hispanics are coming from poor neighborhoods in poor countries and seeing dollars as an opportunity to support their family.

When a trainer says that this drug can make that happen, the player is likely to listen. Whereas an American born player is more likely to weigh his options.

The cat's been out the bag on hispanic players juicing. Scouts have often expressed surprise when a guy jumps from 89 to 94 on the gun in a matter of weeks.

Dude. The steroids are sold over the counter at drug stores. We have to get a prescription from a doctor...In the DR and Cuba I know for a fact that you can just walk into a drug store and buy steroids.

EDIT: They did this on the documentary "Sicko" in Cuba, and there's widespread reporting about the availibility of steroids OTC at drug stores in DR.
