      Re: playing baseball

Most serious collision I've been in was on a blooper..

I play middle infield.. and I, being the shortstop on the particular play, called the ball. And as we all know, the shortstop has control over the other infielders.. But the 2nd basemen dove for it anyway.. In a strange turn of events, his knee collided with my head, and was out for a couple of minutes.

      Damn greedy players.

            Re: playing baseball

I stopped playing baseball when I was 10, and I haven't tried to play since for one reason.

I was playing outfield (LF)...someebody popped it up over there, and I couldn't see, because the sun was in my eyes. I just looked at the Catcher, and I shrugged, saying I just can see, we'll wait till it hits tha carpet.

That ball hit me right on the top of the head, and to this day, I have a dent in my head....a VERY deep dent...

I'd play for my school next year, and I really want to play, because I'm not bad, but its a psycological thing. That really hurt, and I'm just scared about getting hurt now.

I was pitching once, and the batter hit a pop fly in between me and the catcher. Well, there was a bit of mis-communication, and I ended up running into the catcher. I say he got the better end of the deal since he had all the catchers gear on. Me on the other hand, I got a head butted in the head with a catchers mask. I don't know why he didn't take it off, but he didn't, so I got hit with it. The collision hurt really bad, but amazingly enough somehow the catcher got extremely lucky and caught the ball.

meh. last year i got ran into playing 2B. it was on a steal attempt and the catcher threw to me instead of the SS( batter was a left handed) so the SS keeps running all the way over to me and bam. i end up going to the hospital with a deep cut in my lip. i guess i took a bite out of it because there is a little gap in there now. the only thing i'm worried about playing ball is taking a hopper into the nuts at 2B. batting i need to keep my front foot in the box but i'm doing good with that now. went 2-3 tonight with a single, double, 1SB and 1R. with a K also. i now have 7 K's combine between JV and V.

Uhmm .. Thats when you use your glove/off hand to shield the sun and find the ball.

And, if you were any good at baseball, you wouldn't let a small thing like that stop you from playing.

IMO, that is the dumbest reason not to play sports.
