Uhmm .. Thats when you use your glove/off hand to shield the sun and find the ball.

And, if you were any good at baseball, you wouldn't let a small thing like that stop you from playing.

IMO, that is the dumbest reason not to play sports.

But like I said, it's a psycological thing that I've had trouble getting past.

It doesn't matter. It was in the past, get over, and play the game the right way.

People have to realize. If the game is played the way it is supposed, injuries don't occur nearly as often.

The Hee Seop Choi / Kerry Wood collison gave me bad memories... not the play but how Choi's head hit the ground...

I was catching in a summer league game (mostly college players and those who have just gotten out of college) when I was plowed flat at the plate... it was the other team's number three hitter who played linebacker at a D-2 college... he tagged on a fly ball hit to right and as I turned back from catching the relay throw he was right on top of me... bounced my head off home plate (concussion) and also dislocated my right shoulder... the dislocation of my throwing arm was so sevre that it benched me for the rest of the summer... the injury ended my catching days as I moved to the outfield the next season

I had a weird one that I don't remember, but it's on tape. It was a high school game, and I was up. We had helmets like the pros do, because this was some tournament, so we often times have different things... I guess it was a bad idea. According to the tape, the pitch was a 78 mph fastball RIGHT INTO THE NOGGIN. Now, in real life, everything went black. On the tape, my helmet flew back, and I just fell backwards, and I layed there lifeless for 6 minutes. It was a Saturday. When I woke up, I thought it was Friday. So I never remembered what happened that day/game, until I resaw it all on tape. That was the scariest moment of my life, even if I was knocked out during it.

in one of our last games against a conference team probably our best pitcher on the 3rd pitch of the game to the lead off guy. he nailed him right in the head with a fastball. (about 85 MPH or more). the helmet had a dent i guess but wasn't broken. the coolest part was the ball rolled all the way down to 1B. our CF at the time said he heard the thing in the OF and he was playing deep to. the pitcher for that team went on to hit 5 of our guys. i haven't heard anything on the kid from last night. when i went to bed at like midnight he was getting x-rays.

                        NFL - Packers & Browns

NCAA Football - Wisconsin, LSU, Virginia Tech
                        Soccer - Arsenal, Wolverhampton

Oh I thought of something. Last year in a Babe Ruth game someone on our team hits a pop up foul past first. We were playing on a crappy field that was really spread out, so there was a line for out of play, not a fence. The fece was about 20 yards further away. So the ball is up in the air, and both umps are yelling out of play. Well, the first baseman runs full speed into the fence, with his head going right into a hard sign. Seriously, full speed, he didn't put his arms out or anything to break the fall. The ambulance came, and he ended up being ok, just shaken up, and he cut his mouth on his braces, but it looked like it would have been a lot worse
