he was out for like a month and he is probably on pace for about 70-80 ribbies and last night he made the catch of the season...Pirates win two straight and i still think they have a shot at winning the division(or at least giving a run for the cubs',astros and cardinals money)only 7.5 back..

His catch last night was incredible. He ran full steam, planted his foot in the wall and committed highway robbery.

Since I do not live in the Pittsburgh area or a Pirates fan, my only interest in Giles is as a fantasy baseball'er. And in that state of mind, I think there is a strong argument that Giles is the best hitter in the game.
I think he has something like 50 walks against 15 strikeouts. His on-base percentage is about .470 and he hits for reasonable power. I was able to nab him in my Yahoo! league for Jamie Moyer straight up.
I've never even seen this guy play. Maybe I should.Comment

Giles is just an all around good guy and a good player. It's kinda sad to see that much talent go to waste in a team that hasn't had a winning record in a decade. Giles has been the Pirates team for years and I hope soon he helps to turn them around.Comment
