Actually, baseball did get this one right for once. Clemens doesn't have the stats over Hudson or Pedro, but this being his last year and with the milestones he reached, he deserves one last appearance. Hudson and Pedro will make plenty more all star games before their careers are over.

I'm glad he and Dontrelle made the team. Unfortunately, most of you don't appreciate what the man has done in his career. One of the best pitchers in the history of the game.
For the one that said how does a pitcher with the record of 8-6 get in to the game, Wood had a record of 8-6 when his manager picked him over Willis.
" I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "
            - Lavar Arrington on his new Redskins teammate Sean Taylor.

Dontrelle, if that's the girl from American Idol, we might finally have an avatar we can both agree on.

Seriously though, if Clemens were taking an extra spot on the roster like Gwynn had when he retired that would be cool, but as a fan of the game I feel robbed of seeing a 'vintage' Zito or 'vintage' Hudson in place of an 'old' Clemens. It does reek of Billy Beane though, so it's hard to blame anyone but the A's...

... but hey, Rickey's back, should HE make the all-star team... we'll get to see Albert Pujols for years but may never see Rickey's insane *** again?

I'm sure most of you weren't complaining this much when Ripken was in the ASG his last year. Clemens is one of the best pitchers ever, he deserves it just as much and maybe more than Ripken.

I have no problem with Clemens being in the game. I just have issues with other guys like Foulke and Hernandez on the team before Tim Hudson and Jason Varitek.
