    They aren't meaningless. OPS is the best SINGLE stat to use to determine how good a hitter he is, but all the major stats should be looked at.

            The Yankees would be just as good without Giambi so it's hard to make a case for him as MVP-- they did, after all, win 3 straight World Series before he arrived with virtually the same players they still have.

            Ichiro makes the Mariners. The man does everything right. But the largest advantage he has over Giambi is defense. You can't give the MVP to a DH.

            Personally, I'd give it to Roy Halladay before I'd go with Giambi.

                        If it's an most VALUBLE player award i'd give it to Roy Halladay as well. I may be biased but without Roy the Jays would be really in the toilet right now. However since everybody associates the MVP with offense i'll go with Ichiro.
