    Right bro,

Perez shows flashes of talent so did Ruben and then they would just blow up and do nothing right fact.

Ruben was to trying. Explain why he would show flashes of talent to explain. You can't cause they both have the same problems think they are the best and will not let anyone help them when they are messing up cause they believe nothing is wrong.

Perez can have a 10 K game and walk 1 and then the very next game get rocked for 6-8 runs, walk 4-6 and K 2 and Ruben can go 3-4 or 2-3 and hit a homerun and everyone will say see that is what they are looking for and then bam the next few games he wont get a hit or mess up somewhere then people bag on him and Same thing with Perez.

The Two are the same. They Both are losted don't know what to do its like when they do good they say Wow! I can do that and then mess up.

How about this Perez and Ruben get there heads on straight and they could be something special but, they can't so they are over.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

I don't know much about Perez, but he IS 22!!!! 22 year old major leaguers have major ups and major downs. If in 3 more years he's still inconsistent, then there might be a problem.

However until then, I don't see any reason why someone would call a 22 year old rookie who has a mid-upper 90's fastball "done".

I am not saying he is done now.I am just saying that if he keeps walking this road that he has paved just like Ruben has done. His career is over at the age of 22 Sad but could be true.

The only part that sucks about this trade is that the Pirates still have to deal with sh*tty catching. Kendall sucks, plain and simple. Yes, he's hitting something like .315, but he NEVER hits when you need him to. Runners in scoring position? He can't drive them in. Need a big hit to start a rally? Sorry, he's going only hit a single most likely. Need him to get a runner over? Nope, Kendall don't bunt. He's by FAR the worst .300+ hitter in a long time.

While I'm sorry to see Giles go, he really hasn't done much this year. His production is way down from last year, and he's going to need knee surgery after the season is over. I'd love to see Perez work out, because it gives us all the more flexability to dump Benson.

Well, the Bucs did land Jason Bay in the deal. And, from people's opinion on this thread, he's the better player between him and Xavier Nady. Got a chance to see Bay's stats: this guy really has put up the numbers!

Of course, there's also the dreaded "Player to be named". Wondering if its Nady? I mean, why would they make a AA pitcher (if its Corey Stewart) a PTBN?

That's the deal ESPN reported last night, and that's probably the way it will end up. But, I just checked numerous sights, including pittsburghpirates.mlb.com and they have Perez, Bay, and a player to be named later. Was the player named five minutes ago?
