Finally. I'm very happy about this.

Looks like its Kelly, Rizzo, Fuetes, and a PTBNL. Neither are elite prospects but both Kelly and Rizzo are good players to pick up.

I'm going to leave this thread open. This forum is pretty dead if we put everthing in the Hot Stove thread. I think its fine to have threads for trades and big signings. Rumors and small moves seem fine to keep in the hot stove thread.

Well, it's not done yet. They still have to work out a contract (and though I don't foresee an issue there, you never know...ARod to Beantown was all but done way back when).

I believe that the physical is in-process as well. Still, if it goes through, my fat *** is doing cartwheels all week...lol.

Haha, yikes poor Padres fans, I'm super pumped. He's going to be a beast in Fenway, he'll be around 40 homers this year no doubt, probably even a few more now that he's out of Petco and with quality hitters around him. Big day for the Sox, more than makes up for losing out on Teixeira.

The difference with A-Rod was he wanted to accept less money, the MLBPA stepped in and refused to allow the trade cause they are about "progressing contracts, not cutting money"... so the Yankees came in and offered that much more.

This situation is a little different, since A-Gon is not on a 20+ mil a year contract! So he will be getting his pay day, and not "less money".

HEY! Mods close the 'Adamn Dunn to the White Sox' thread saying that it belongs in the Hot Stove thread.

But they're keeping this open? Shouldn't this be in the 'Hot Stove' thread as well? Do I detect some Eastern Seaboard bias?

^^Maybe Joe Morgan joined the mod staff since ESPN fired him. Dunn's average is too low to deserve his own thread.

Yet another reason of about 1,000 I have abandoned the Padres. Nice to see they have completely renegged on all the promises they were handing out when they wanted everyone to vote for the new stadium.

Even if they wanted to get A-Gon, I didn't think they had the better prospects to offer than what Red Sox offered for him.

Eh, I'd prefer Feuntes over Kalish or Lowrie, but all 3 of these guys are top 10 prospects in our system. His skills are like those of Ellsbury's, but if Boras plays hard ball with Jacoby, Feuntes was going to be the heir apparent in CF.

We're giving up our top prospect, # 3, and # 6 according to BA, and that's from a good system.

I wish they took Josh Reddick, or even Lin, but Hoyer knows better.
