Re: 4/11 - 4/17 Game Discussion Thread
LOL, I have always like him as well. Very intertaining to listen to or watch. I even use to watch his TV show MR Belvedere or something like that. While he was not a good ball player he is a very important piece of the game IMO. Even thou i never have liked the Cubs I loved Harry Carry as well.Comment

The Indians failed heavy today. No way they should have lost that game.
Still successful west coast trip but...should have been 2 of 3 in LAA. Oh well, Bring on the Birds.Too Old To Game Club

Jake Westbrook isn't good, 5 more runs given up today, lucky for him the offense exploded so he shouldn't get another L.Favorite Teams:

Eduardo Sanchez made his debut for the Cards tonight, in 2 innings out of the pen he K'd 5 and allowed only 1 hit.
Early but if Franklin continues to stink it up I think people are going to start calling for Sanchez to get a crack at the closer spot, he has great stuff.Favorite Teams:

Troy mother effin Tulowitzki.
6th bomb of the year already, geezus he's looking like he did back in September of last year. I'm calling an ARod esque season out of the SS position for Tulo this year if he stays healthy.7 National Championships

Re: 4/11 - 4/17 Game Discussion Thread
I may be a bit premature here, but I see a lot of Felix Hernandez in Michael Pineda. The most impressive part of Pineda is his pin point control, catcher hardly has to move his glove, and has 11 of 14 first pitch strikes tonight. And this past inning allowed back-to-back base runners to start the inning and showed his poise by not allowing either one to advance any further, a pop out and 2 strike outs. He has shown the ability to work in and out of trouble, I like that. Very impressive showing thus far.
He's been impressive no doubt. Without that velocity he's canon fodder...pray for good arm health while he develops the change and slider.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

...Spoke to Soon.
Colorado had a three-run lead in the ninth when Huston Street came on to close it out. He gave up a two-run homer to Scott Hairston, a walk to Josh Thole and a single to pinch hitter Carlos Beltran before manager Jim Tracy brought in Matt Lindstrom.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: 4/11 - 4/17 Game Discussion Thread
He absolutely has the best stuff of anyone in our system as far as relievers go, definitely the closer of the future, and the sooner that future is the better because Franklin just doesn't look good.
Franklin isn't a bad reliever, he just isn't an imposing closer at all, doesn't really have a dominant pitch he can rely on, has a lot of pitches in his arsenal but I think that makes him a better fit for a setup or even regular relief role. Plain old middle reliever would be my preference but if Tony removes him from the closer role I'd be shocked if he didn't make him the primary setup man.Favorite Teams:

Yeah I'm not going that far yet, first appearance in the majors so teams haven't really scouted him too much yet, that will change fast if he continues to get strikeouts at the rate he is.
