Prior is an absolute freak of nature. I just hope that throwing 133 pitches isn't going to come back and bite the Cubbies in the butt down the road.

Prior could actully be throw back from when a Pitcher was actully a Pitcher... He is the best young pitcher I have ever seen.... an absalute animal.
Yes i was there when Maddux came up. He pitched in my home town for the Cubs AAA team...
Prior is better (At this point in his career).... He is like having a 34-year-old vet on the Hill, and then you realize he is only 23...
I don't know what to say...Someone has to be looking out for the Cubbies... (Harry)

Unfortunately the "pitcher" as it once was, will never be. Those kids grew up throwing all the time through college and the pros. Now, starting as early as pony league (american legion, or whatever you call it), the kids are on a pitch count. Sure, Prior is built pretty tough and I think he CAN go out and throw 130 from time to time, but I wouldn't do it on a regular basis.
I wonder if the other MLB clubs will STOP drafting high school pitchers and let them develop in college (as Prior did). I'm still waiting to see how Gavin Floyd develops in the Phillies system as he went to a local private boys school called Mt. St. Joe's here in Baltimore (drafted in 1st round by the Phils after high school).
