Re: Cubs vs. Marlins

yeesh I know that the Marlins pitching has been shelled all series long but Beckett was beaten up pretty badly his first time out and look what he did. I'm not saying they're gonna turn around and beat the Cubs like Beckett did. I was only saying that "potentially" they could come back.

The NL East may see two victims from the Cubs, mainly because those two teams had a dogfight to even get in the playoffs (more so Marlins then Braves) so they've been battle tested.

As I said, the cubs will likely win. I just don't think there's a need to go loopy just yet.

The Cubs have showed they can hit a fastball but if you watched the game that Redman pitched the cubs didnt hit him that hard so i think that Pavano has a pretty good shot at shutting down the cubs tonight....I think this game will go to a game 7 and i think the Marlins will win the series but this is probably wishful thinking from a Marlin fan.

Redman did not get hit hard, correct. However Redman's WHIP was 1.80, which is terrible. I wasn't surprised about Becketts performance, cuz after the first inning in game 1, he settled down nicely. He deseved game 5 no doubt about it cuz he came after everybody and made Sammy look like a fool! Can Pavano do that? I don't see it. The reason the Cubs have been doing well offensively is that they have been taking their walks, which is unlike them. Beckett knew this and said, "Try and hit me.", and they couldn't However, if Pavano tries this, I believe he will get hit. IT will be easier to pick up the ball at that time of day anyway. Either way, I can tell you that it's cold and damp here in Chicago, so 3-4 runs should be enough to win tonight.

Couldnt this same logic be applied to Kerry Wood though? Kerry Wood had his bad game already. Hopefully hes on his mark because if he is Ill take Woods stuff over anyones including Prior.

Lets not forget that the shadows were not exactly conducive to hitting Sunday.

In any event, I will be proud of the Cubs and their accomplishments this year!

They stuck with it, even when it looked like they were ready to fade... One Game from THE Series

                        Go Cubs!!!

One sidenote >> did anyone notice that the Florida Marlins didn't celebrate on the mound like they won the series.. like they after Game 1.

Congrats to the Cubs for making it to the World Series. I know many people will be joyous and out partying tonight. Next you're going to go against BoSox/Yanks which will prove to be a much tougher test then what you have faced thus far. Congrats once again.
