Brewers ink Alex Gonzalez to a one year deal.

Sounds like he's basically Betancourt at the plate, but Gonzalez is actually defensively competent.

I'll take it. Now go get Aramis.

"CJ Wilson: The next AJ Burnett"

This is insane for me to even think about. No comparison now; Nor in the future.

Don't see why all the Rangers fans are up in arms. Not signing C.J. was for the better. Now they can use that money to sign all the core players to extensions, which will ultimately lead to more wins that Wilson could provide for them.

I actually think deals are great for the Angels. They haven't had any problems winning in the past few years, and all they did was make the team better. The amount of money Pujols will bring in negates some of the cost of that contract.

I believe they were counting the season tickets toward ticket sales on a particular night. As for people in the seats, there were MANY nights in the second half where the stadium was half empty.

As for doom and gloom, I still consider the Rangers the favorites. The Rangers have a better bullpen and lineup, and although the Angels have the edge in the rotation, the Rangers rotation isn't full of scrubs. They're pretty good too.

Too many things have to go right for this deal to make sense.

Not to mention Morales if he has recovered from his injury, could be trade bait.

I don't think so. All the games I went to near the end of the season were anything but empty.

As for the Rangers being the favorites and all that, I don't see how, but that's why the play the games.

He'll be 20 years old next year. No need to rush him if they don't have to. I'd prefer he stays down another year or so. I don' think his bat is ready for a full season in the majors. Defensively he's pretty good though.

I think a lot of that depends on what they do with Morales. If he's healthy the plan is a combo of OF, 3b and DH. 3B has been a hole for them for some time, although I don't know how well Trumbo will do there defensively.

I think we need to see how Morales progresses before we really know what they do with Trumbo.

Now we just need a starter and a 2B and we're ready to roll; a 3B would be a nice bonus but I get the feeling we're in for a Kelly/Inge platoon at 3B.

Angels have a very good rotation now. Weaver, Haren, Wilson and Sanata. The question is, with Pujols at 1st, what do you do with Abreu, Trumbo and Morales? You also have Wells and Hunter manning the corner outfield spots.
I was reading earlier on another site someone had suggested the idea of Detroit trying to swoop in and offer to take Abreu off the Angels hands if they would include Kendrick in the deal. I liked the idea, but the guy was proposing we offer Ryan Perry lol.

Kendrick is a FA after this year I believe. So that does make some sense. Although I don't know if the Angels are willing to part with him.

I think he would do well in that park, he's a gap hitter with some speed who plays pretty good defense.

This a good problem to have if he recovers well!

Cubs/Brewers fans are rejoicing while Cardinals fans are probably cutting themselves lol
