Guess so. So, no longer will I despise the Yankees. Spending hundreds of millions on players is what baseball is all about, baby!

Hell no. I was very against the Rangers signing Pujols, and I'm opposed to them signing Fielder. As for CJ, I didn't want them to go over 4/60 for him.

Agreed! The A's are intentionally doing nothing this offseason, with the goal of reducing their already lowly payroll.

Woah MLB Network showed a note that Marlins offered $275 million over 10 years to Pujols. Thought all the teams were around low 200

Ughh Marlins not interested in Fielder because he won't able to bring in that Latin market like Pujols would have.

Fielder in between Hanley and Stanton would be nasty, and if you put a good team on the field that wins people will eventually show up.

What a dumb reason not to sign someone.

                  Winning trumps "latino maket considerations".

I wouldn't say that. We knew that was too much for the Cardinals to spend on an aging player. We got the best years out of Pujols. The only real problem is that fathers that must explain this to the kids, and how the future generation will be impacted. Doesn't look too good.

First off, I like the Dotel signing. I don't know the value of the contract, but it's always good at add veteran bullpen help. Now we just need a starter and a 2B and we're ready to roll; a 3B would be a nice bonus but I get the feeling we're in for a Kelly/Inge platoon at 3B.

Angels have a very good rotation now. Weaver, Haren, Wilson and Sanata. The question is, with Pujols at 1st, what do you do with Abreu, Trumbo and Morales? You also have Wells and Hunter manning the corner outfield spots.

                        Not necessarily in Miami.

The Cards better start looking for another catcher to replace Yadi. The only logical thing that comes to mind is that Pujols' best friend will likely follow him in a couple of years.

BTW, what's compensation like for Pujols leaving?

The reason why Pujols wouldn't go to Miami was because they refused to include a no-trade clause in the contract.

I'm gettin frustrated with the lack of action from the Reds, and it sounds like Grandpa Walt is too. We did offer Volquez for Huston Street, but the Rockies took the Fathers offer. Still sounds like a Volquez to Rockies deal may happen, as Seth Smith's name is being thrown around.

They are also talking to Dmitri Young. That is so 2001.
They are also talking to former Red (well 2 games) Cody Ross.

Angels first round pick next year and a compensation pick.

Abreu will still play in the OF, Trumbo will likely split time between DH and 3B, and I'm pretty sure that Morales will never play again. There was some talk before they even signed Pujols about moving Trumbo to 3B, so now I'm sure that he'll split time will Callaspo.
