No it isn't. That's like saying to someone who has 100 dollars in their pocket that $50 dollars isn't much.

50 million dollars is 50 million dollars no matter how you cut it. It's a lot of money to anyone. It certainly is to wealthy people, that's why they stay wealthy. They understand the value of money.

Not accurate, Marlins final offer to Pujols was 40 million less than Anaheim's, I think their offer was higher for CJ though,

That's not what I have been reading. Let me see if I can find where I read that. It was yesterday and I can't remember that far back, I am old .

When you're that rich, it's really not. Especially with endorsements.

I agree with bkrich though, this falls on St. Louis for even allowing it to get to this point.

Yep you're right. CJ said so that not only was the Marlins for more money but more years. 6 with an option for a 7th.

I don't know if you are disagreeing just for the sake of argument but you are wrong.

                    It really is.

I'd rewrite it, but BK summed it up pretty well here...

Where are you guys getting this $50 million dollars anyway?

The Cardinals offered him 10 Yrs/$220 Million.

                          Ahh, gotcha.

I was just initially responding to your post on the last page is all...

The guy is home grown talent through and through. Since he came to the states, he has been in Missouri. Went to JUCO there, came up through the Cardinals system and brought them a ton of success and 2 WS titles. Why wouldn't a player want to finish where he started? They definitely weren't booting him out of town. It was the exact opposite in St. Louis. Seems like there is no loyalty any more. Honestly, the money is just that, money. At the end of the day, when you're that rich, is there really that big of a difference between $200 and $250 million? Especially when he has endorsements on top of that?

                          I don't know. I just don't understand these players i guess.
I was just saying the contrary, that there absolutely is that big of a difference between $200 and $250 million. That's all.

                            Really?

He won 2 World Series for you. Including this past year.

And then he left via free agency, which he's totally entitled to do.

What exactly did Pujols do wrong here? If you guys wanted to keep him, you should've offered him more money.

It's not like he forced his way out of St. Louis. You guys had 2 years to resign him and didn't. Be mad at the front office.
