Re: Braun tests positive for PEDs.

Braun didn't prove his innocence here; all he proved was that the evidence against him was inadmissible. In other words, he's not saying that he didn't do PEDs, but that the protocol to test him was not right. There is no amount of degradation that would have shown that much testosterone in his sample. All Braun did here was get off on a technicality, and made it to where his second positive test will be his first fifty game suspension.

What I don't get are the conspiracy theorist already creeping out of the woodwork. There is nothing that Baseball could gain by allowing Braun to escape scot-free.

This is ridiculous. The MLB can't send out samples in a timely fashion?

Makes no sense that "delayed shipping" changes anything.

I love Braun so I'm "happy" with it, but would have been happier if they actually overturned it on legitimate grounds.

Sounds like Brauns team went after the easier route to debate his suspension. Heck, according to reports, the sample was in some persons basement fridge for two days. Anyone could have tainted it.

I'm sure there will be questions and answers for Braun tomorrow.

Still, a darn shame this went public, as everything would have been normal if BSPN didn't report the story in the first place.

Re: Braun tests positive for PEDs.

Rules are rules, just like they were had the original ruling been upheld (if it was ever official).

We say these guys should know what they're putting in their bodies, but the MLB needs to be on top of the WHOLE PROCESS if they want to give it any credibility.

Just makes the MLB look stupid. Braun pulled a fast one, and got away with it. Hats off, I guess.

Doesn't really change my view on him. I don't know, even when other guys have been caught, never really phased me. It's just the new normal...

Because MLB has a confidentiality clause in the procedures of drug testing.

I blame MLB more than ESPN for the leak.

Don't blame the Media. It was someone inside that process that leaked that info.

With that Part, it's a shame because It tarnished his reputation.

Oh, I believe it was someone in MLB that leaked the info, but ESPN made the decision to report it.

If he continues to hit the way he has over the past 5 yrs till near retirement, and stays clean like the 25 times before, I'd say that tarnishment will be reduced.

ESPN reported it because they are supposed to. If they didn't, Yahoo or SI would. You know ESPN is still angry over losing out on the ARod news to SI.

It's a competitive business that involves being the first to break stories.

Someone was gonna break it. Once this happened to Braun there was no way out. The public was always gonna find out.

I'll back it up a few steps, I should and will put the blame on MLB for leaking the story. There is a confidentiality clause in player testing. Article 7 was violated against Braun's rights.

Just saying if this wasn't leaked by MLB, nobody would know about this and life would have carried on.

This report is saying the same thing I've been trying to say.

They say there's a first for everything. And Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun has just become the first big leaguer to ever successfully win the public appeal of a suspension that was the result of a positive drug test. Tom … Continue reading →

Of course, if the process had been respected from the start, the results of Braun's original test would have never been leaked to ESPN back in December. His appeals process would have remained confidential and we never would have had two months of Braun maintaining his innocence while others debated if he should surrender his MVP award to Matt Kemp. Braun was not afforded the same confidential process that others who have tested positive have been afforded and that remains the injustice that was at the root of this story.

Wow, strong words from A-Rodgers on his friend Braun on Twitter.

"MLB and cable sports tried to sully the reputation of an innocent man. Picked the wrong guy to mess with. Truth will set u free #exonerated"

"When its guilty until proven innocent, all u need are the facts. #howsthecrowmlb #exonerated"

The public portion of this story began in December when ESPN reported Braun's positive test. Rodgers implied he knew the full story during his initial defense in December, saying: "I am 100 percent supporting him and am behind him and believing everything that he says."

Responding Thursday to followers who suggested Braun was exonerated on a technicality, Rodgers tweeted: "I'll let my buddy take it from here. All u idiots talking about technicality open up for some crow too. See if Espn gets pressured not to let the people hear the truth. Should get interesting.
