Jose Reyes hit a HR off Nolasco today in intrasquad scrimmages

Didn't take long for Nolasco to get in mid season form then

Nice to see Travis Snider having a good day yesterday. Aaron Laffey made his debut with the Jays yesterday and allowed a couple runs I believe. if he sticks with the big club I think it'll be in a long relief role.

Henderson Alvarez has his first action of the spring today and it'll be interesting to see how he does this year considering how good he was last year. There's going to be some expectations placed on him. The Jays won't be suiting up their regulars though....

Yu Darvish's 1st inning against San Diego:

                    1 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K

He K'd Carlos Quentin on a filthy slurve. Would've been 0 hits if Michael Young weren't playing first today.

Edit: Darvish is done for the day.

                    2 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K

                    36 pitches, 26 strikes. 9 swinging strikes.

Spring Training is such a crapshoot, but hey, Casey Kelly managed to get two strikeouts in two scoreless innings.

Edit: Luebke got 4 in 2 innings, and one squad can't generate any offense while the other one can. Joe Wieland got lambasted by his former organization today.

Hey, the Cubs are back on TV and throwing the ball all over the infield in the first inning...good times.

Boston's new Spring Training stadium is... amazing.

It has a Green Monster, a manual scoreboard in the Monster, a triangle, and it looks to have the same dimensions as Fenway.

                            Seriously awesome.

Yeah JetBlue Park is a thing of beauty. They don't call it Fenway South for nothing. For people who haven't seen it, here's a picture.

EDIT: And yes, the dimensions are exactly the same.

Yeah JetBlue Park is a thing of beauty. The Cubs should try to do something like that with their spring training home but I don't know how feasible that is in Arizona.

On another note but wow McGowan is looking good as his spring debut showed yesterday afternoon. I'm really pulling for him to do well. It's also neat to see that the Jays are getting their fair share of positive press in the baseball media this spring. Let's hope it translates to success on the field.
