Re: 2012 Spring Training Discussion Thread
Don't get how Davis was disappointing? He had an injury in april and then when he came back, he hit almost .300 in May. June he struggled alot, but picked things back up in July before being injured for rest of season. He got 34 stolen bases as well in 95 games(which was his best stolen bases average in his career, even better than season average when he got 50SB)
Unfortunately I don't think the Jays see him as a starter because of his defensive liabilities and the fact that he can be inconsistent with the bat. It's the reason why they acquired Colby Rasmus to play in CF.
Anyways in the "it's not really news" dept. Omar Vizquel has come out and said 2012 is likely his last season.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

PHOENIX -- Cleveland Indians outfielder Grady Sizemore has a strained lower back and will miss Opening Day, yet another setback for the former All-Star.
Sizemore injured his back a few weeks ago while working his way back from knee surgery. Trainer Lonnie Soloff says there is no timetable on his return. Sizemore has been shut off from all baseball activities as the Indians wait to see how he responds to treatment.Aaron

Re: 2012 Spring Training Discussion Thread
I feel bad for White Sox fans. What the Sox were doing this offseason leaves me scratching my head. They trade away some really solid players in Quentin, Santos, etc. to throw up a white flag and then they turn around resign Danks to a contract he might not be worth.
Nothing worse than a team that can't decide what direction they are going.
In my mind though Rios and Dunn won't be as bad as last year and the pitching staff is still average, maybe a little above. And they still have Konerko at 1st. I'm expecting 70-75 wins. I don't know what PECOTA has them projected at. But like I said before, at this point, I just want Baseball.Comment

Brandon Inge spent the offseason with former Michigan football strength and conditioning coach Mike Barwis.
By the end, Inge's bat speed was faster, his swing was more forceful, and his lower-body strength was doubled.
"The 18 pounds he gained was force," Barwis said. "It dramatically changed his lower body. Although swinging the bat comes through with your arms, your force is initiated with your legs."
Barwis said Inge was "dramatically stronger" and "dramatically quicker."

I have heard numerous sports people say that they like stanton to lead the lead in HR's this year. He hit 34 last year, if he stays healthy there is no reason why he can't hit AT LEAST 40 this year.Currently Playing
