My football team revealed they're going to be wearing lime green totem poles on their legs and iridescent mohawks on their helmets, its going to be 2014 before I'm excited again.

I'm a lean towards the Rays (they may not have a big 3 or 4 like Philly & LAA, but their depth is spectacular) and the Angels. The Phillies big 3 put them right up there. IMO, you couldn't go wrong picking any one of those teams. As always with pitching, it will come down to injuries during the season.

The Rays depth of young arms, and their ability to develop those arms is ridiculous. James Shields performance today not withstanding.

I really like Shields stuff, but I don't like his demeanor. Too many times today when things didn't go his way he seemed to go the wrong direction and his performance suffered.

Well....in all honesty the Mayans predicted there won't be a 2014, and since the Mayans didn't predict that the M's would be in a WS in 2014 I am going to have to go against that notion.

Now that I've solved this thread, time to go to the 2012 predictions thread. . . .

You don't need the Mayans notion, to find out that Mariners won't win anything. All you need is a brain and two eyes.

The thing with the Rangers is that they have a bunch of options in the rotation. Holland, Lewis, and Harrison have been proven as solid (at least) pitchers, and while it's my opinion that Darvish's and Feliz's seasons are crapshoots, they both are expected to have at least decent years. And, Texas has a former 17-game-winner in Feldman and a former All-Star in Alexi Ogando, both coming out of the pen. The Rangers' rotation isn't as good as the Phillies or Giants, but it's deeper than, say, the Angels, Tigers, or Yankees.

What's the word on how that ballpark is going to play? Pitchers park? I haven't really been paying attention.
Real late response forgot I posted, off the few games that have been there I don't see it being too pitcher friendly like San Diego. I see it being neutral with may be a slight lean to pitcher just due to the CF, but it kind of just reminds of Sun Life due to that.

If JJ is healthy that's an Ace, everything else is questionable even if healthy. Anibal had a good season last year, Nolasco is up and down he can great once then allow HR after HR(had a solid 8 inning tonight atleast), Zombrano is probably the biggest wild card but even then he'll be better than Volstad imo. Forgot about Buerhle, but just want the consistency from him.

Given the concerns I do see middle of the pack now, but if everything goes to plan hopefully it could be a top of the line rotation.

All those teams are built to be good for years to come here...and I can't imagine Seattle's offense being able to make up for the young guys in the rotation when they have an off day (which happens with talented young guys, see Rick Porcello and Max Scherzer.) And I don't see Texas and LA going away anytime soon, the core of those teams are a bunch of young, locked up talent (especially Texas.)

I think Seattle is going in the right direction, but WS by 2014...maybe in The Show, but in RL that's just as likely as the Cubs winning in 2013.

Man..... I saw this thread and thought, "oh kick ***, 21 pages of discussion on rotations. I know my Diamondbacks have a nice rotation, I wonder what other people have to say about their own team"

...and then..... man, what a good night this has been. So many laughs have been had, and not a single post was skipped while reading what unfolded before me.

i'd rather have the indians rotations rather than the cards and dbacks.

                        Masterson - is a beast
jimenez - will get it done this year
Lowe - is solid but his age will catch up with him down the stretch
Tomlin - people sleep on this guy he's got a lot of potential.
Gomez - is as decent as it gets for #5 guy.

people sleep on the indians, but i'd have them in top ten for rotation and bullpen. Their problem is hitting but they have a lot of young talent in Santana, Kipnis, Cabrera, and Chisenhall( curious to see how he does this year)
