This game is destined to be a loss. The Padres are starting Kelly, his 1st MLB game. The Braves usually are horrible against young pitchers without any MLB tape on them.

I told someone two days ago "Casey Kelly makes his debut against Atlanta...expect 7 innings of shutout baseball." I was close...

tough loss for the cardinals tonight. hope that yadi is ok and comes back soon. here's the gif of the play at the plate - kinda long but i'll put it in spoilers.

Interesting to note that Yadier had about the same collision with the Pirates 8 years to this day.

I wish MLB would have cameras on the fair poles. I can't tell whether the Delmon Young shot was a HR or not. One angle made it look like a HR, the other made it look foul. Since the call was foul, and the evidence was inconclusive, I don't have an issue with the final call. I just wish we had a specific camera set up so we could get a close up view.

Local DC media has been getting ancy w/ the Nationals in a swoon, and this being uncharted territory for the franchise...everyone talking about Strasburg stopping the bleeding tonight...guess not lol.

Ahem 1979-1981 and 1994 and before you say that doesn't count just remember all the Expos records are still on the book and the media will talk about how it's the first time the franchise has been in the playoffs since '81.

Anywho, even though they lost I was buoyed by Romero's start tonight and hey Adeiny Hechevarria (sp) hit his first career HR! Sadly, Colby Rasmus went from hero last night to goat tonight with his bad baserunning mistake.
